The super itself is fine but this? It's not the fact that it simply survives it but how that fact weighs against other classes. Radiance and most importantly bladedance get OHKO by a golden gun. Bladedancer especially requires you to be as close as you can get to them to get a kill. So it would make sense they get a health buff because they're always in high danger. Sunbreaker is put in less danger, has tracking hammers, hungering blade And more health?
Balance please..
No they weren't in a sunspot and no they did not have the solar armour perk on their chest piece.
(Don't know if this changed with the golden gun buff) but I Know radiant skin warlocks can survive a GG shot, and I think they absolutely should. They have chosen a specific perk to boost their armour. Titans don't forgo anything for more armour and throw OHKO hammers, which warlocks do not do.
Edit: my view point isn't that golden gun Should 1 shot everything 'because hunter master race', it's that arcblade/radiance/stormtrance require you to put yourself in more danger and get damage resistance.
Edit 2: news in they can survive an LDR/Her Benevolence headshot. The ridiculousness deepens
Edit 3: to any and all fools saying 'Titans have been sub par in Pvp for year 1 so unbalance is warranted'. Unbalance is never warranted. However you lacked a slayer super, now you have one, a damn good one, and I'm happy for yall. However this does not excuse imbalance. HoS being in line - Damage reduction wise - with the other supers will be a minimal change for most encounters. But in the select few situations were someone is good enough to snipe your face or shotgun melee you, you should die like all the other supers.
Important edit: To the staggering amount of people saying this is acceptable because Titans are tanks, do you have any concept of balance? Because Titans are supposed to be 'war machines' they get a buff to health more than any other class As Well as having the amazing slayer super that is Sunbreaker? If that's the case Gunslingers and Bladedancers should have 100% speed and jump buff on super and warlocks should be able to see through walls because they can detect your aura. Don't be ridiculous and seriously think before commenting.
Edit: To those saying to buff golden gun then, this is not the solution. As I said before golden gun isn't the issue it's the Titan's health. Buffing golden gun would make things like the Skull of ahamkara and radiant skin meaningless. Then you could buff those and so on and it'll spiral out of control. The subclasses (bar defender) worked together quite nicely and it's the addition of new ones that is the (slight) issue.
I'm not saying the subclass or the super are overpowered and need to be nerfed, just that the over-buff to health is silly
How sweet is Kings Fall though :D

1 RispondiI wish people would stop comparing super to super, and start comparing the classes in their entirety. Yes, hammer is stupidly effective. But that's for what, 30 seconds three times a match? Personally, I think the health buff is warranted, even needed. When your super is your only selling point it NEEDS to be reliable. Other classes may be less reliable mid super, but most of them have perks that give a constant advantage, beginning first and foremost with melee range. Now add in blink, top tier grenades for some, fast weapon swaps, shields from melee, shoulder charge, and whatever else. These are all non-super benefits that sunbreakers don't get. Hammer is good because Hammer is all they get.
-
You can blink with blade dance , just because you have to get close doesn't mean you should be tankier than a Titan
-
1 RispondiRadiance with radiant skin can survive Golden Gun

91 RisposteHaha I love how hypocritical these Titans have become. When vanilla blade dancer could wreck them with ease they complained. Now that their Sunbreaker can achieve the same feat, somehow they forgot about all the times they complain about Blade dancers and recently warlocks with the Ram tanking too many shots. No one is asking for your HoS to be reduced damage wise. But the freaking armor. All other roaming supers can get shut down by snipers or shotguns quite easily. HoS can't. Why are you afraid to get on an even playing field? Are you scared you won't be able to go on streaks? HoS tanked a golden gun and arc blade that both hit him within 5 seconds of each other. If that's balanced, I say give every other roaming super the armor you have and let's see how you like it.

1 RispondiAny class can survive a golden gun shot if they have maxed armor. Just because a Titan can survive it & can kill you afterwards doesn't mean it's overpowered. Just means you should probably rethink your life as a hunter.
-
Don't worry titans we dicked a lot before. Now it's our turn for however long it lasts.
-
It will be nerfed.
-
Sunbreaker really needs a damage resistance nerf. Don't think that anything can one shot them. Other than that though it's absolutely fine. But right now it's just like, "Oh a hammer of Sol. Well there's not much that I can do..." I mean, none of the other supers get that much armour/resistance. And the 2.0 update was supposed to make Golden Gun OHK every super.
-
Modificato da Doctor Electric: 9/22/2015 5:54:54 AMThe health thing is kind of stupid, but in no way does this subclass need a nerf like what some salts are saying. I have been gunned down using Hammer of Sol before though, and shocked to death, and I had a nova bomb dropped on my head, and I learned Nightstalkers can just turn off my super with theirs the hard way. Plenty of counters to the super itself, but maybe we should lose a large portion of our health to Golden Gun? We do have a healing perk for every kill that involves our abilities.
-
Keep the nerfs for pvp in pvp and I got no complaints.
-
As a guy who has mained a Titan and endured the Hunter reign, I agree we have too much armour in Sun Breaker form.
-
I'm a Titan and I agree with everything you've said ;) Bump
-
They buff golden gun, but they make a class that makes that buff irrelevant. Yea because bungie thought that through about as well as they thought year one though.
-
Yes. I'm a passionated titan as well; I love all subclasses; I was one of the people who thought that the titan needs a better competitive pvp subclass, I'm against nerfs in general but I also think that the damage reduction is too much...
-
They should buff Night Stalker TBH, I tethered this guy with HoS active and he still had it for a 2 seconds
-
GG should one shot everything that's the point
-
Agreed entirely.

1 RispondiModificato da Can: 9/22/2015 2:47:15 AMAll people saying Titans sucked at crucible compared to other classes must not know how to skate. (Skating Titan makes every one of their abilities better) for example if you throw a grenade while skating it goes farther if you skate to someone shoulder charging is so easy, get to spots on trials faster, run away from all other supers except maybe nova bomb and golden gun, fist of havoc while skating is just so unexpected instead of taking all these bullets to the face running, get around corners while there is some one aiming at that area. There is a lot more I'd say Titans were pretty powerful you just have to get advanced but for casuals Titans aren't the best choose pvp (before) now they're is sunbreaker( about 7 ranged OHK, bullet sponge, if you skate GG , great nades. So yeah I'd say either buff defense on all super except golden gun or need the health to just about OHK from golden gun(My choice). Personally I just run the hell away or trade with golden gun.
-
3 RisposteI think its fine. I just shoot the hammerdins with two golden gun shots... I haven't played as a hammerdin yet but I assume they are nowhere near as agile as a blade dancer. Hammerdins and blade dancers and every class each have their strengths and weaknesses. I don't think sun breaker is broken
-
1 RispondiToday i point blank shotgun and melee a sunbreaker and he didnt die got him to about half red bar .. Sunsinger cant even survive that..
-
1 RispondiI sliced a sunbreaker twice with a sword in pvp. But it's ok. He killed me and healed himself since you know, balance.
-
4 RisposteSunsinger survives even without some sort of shield or armor upgrade.
-
I agree with you op. Titans should get a damage reduction on par with the bladedancers or sunsingers.. not more.
-
1 RispondiThe titans were the weakest pvp class before cause of their t rex arm punch and they didn't really have any useful exotics besides like 2, so I think the sunbreaker was a nice buff to them
