So TTK story line takes about 3.5hrs?!
Before you complain that i dont have the expansion (because i dont), i have watched the livestreams about TTK, and it took about 3.5hrs to complete the story line. Is that all you can do Bungie? The missions were similiar to missions we have already done in vanilla, HORDEMODES. There was 1 dissapointing "stealth" mission, where you need to avoid red circles, but thats all really.
Oryx boss fight and the cinematics were kinda cool, but for 40$ expansion the story line is overall bad. Im not sure if strikes and raid can save it.
What do you guys think about the story so far?
UPDATE: Over 300 comments already. Thx for the feedback. I want to point out few things tho.
1. Im not a hater as you might think. I just pointed out that TTK story seems to be pretty short.
2. Im not spreading hate in the community, im here to discuss things with you. Im not trying to brainwash you or anything.

4 RisposteWell You're right the story was not worth $40 But that's not all you bought The quest lines continue from there The raid The subclasses All vanilla missions were given context and coherent story via quest descriptions (where before it was shut up and shoot aliens because darkness) New crucible maps New strikes New gamemodes I mean relative to vanilla (not to most games) $40 was a steal TTK added more content than vanilla had for $60 I'm not gonna defend the price tag, but Bungie did pretty well And I've paid more for less

19 RisposteI don't length just for the sake of being long. I haven't finished the story yet. But so far it's been great. Even the shipwright gets to pay a role. It's very solid so far.

1 RispondiI really thought from what story we did see in commercials and such that the story would be alot longer. I thought it would take longer to hit 40 also. I was at 39 and a half with 1 xp boost and 16 saved up regular bounties. I am very much enjoying the taken king so far though. Just a bit shorter than what I expected.

2 RisposteActually I've been two manning the majority of Ttk with a friend and we've logged almost 9 hours on the story and the patrol dreadnaught. There is a lot to do and it's visibly impressive. I was a doubter a few weeks ago but I'm actually glad that I bought in. The supers are impressive the subclasses are amazing and I feel more involved with the game

Story was great cayde-6 was really funny well written, beautiful graphics. And a ton of new quests to do to earn powerful gear I'm sold. But wait a new raid in 1 day boom.

There is a lot more to it than just playing 8 missions on easy.

I beat halo 4 on legendary in less than 4 hours and that plus a few multiplayer maps is all you ge for 60$. ttk is more than worth it 3.5 hours on just the story plus many more hours on the strikes and soon to come raid. 40$ couldn't be easier to throw at the screen the only game that can compete is elder scrolls or fallout

30 RisposteThis game is not and will never be about the stupid -blam!-ing story, its about end game content and the sooner you get that through you're thick skulls and into those tiny little brains you will like the game much much more.

8 RisposteAll these people complaining about a short story line are conveniently, for themselves, leaving out the fact that there are tons of quests and other things to do. I played for 11 hours straight today and im still nowhere near finishing the content. I still cant even access the nightfall. TTK is completely different then what destiny was 2 weeks ago. Dont judge it based off the whiny posts. Go read some positive posts as well.

I beat batman arkahm city in 2.5 and it was 60 bucks but a great game duration doesn't really mean good or bad

I played about 4 hours last night and don't believe I got half way through. I imagine if you rush through and hammer everything with Gjallarhorn, 3.5 hours per character would be enough. I prefer exploring areas and looking for dead ghosts. Taken King has been worth the investment, but it still chaps my light, dig?

That's the first "arc" of the story. After that, you have plenty of quests, more missions to unlock things like Dreadnaught patrol, MORE quests, bounties and such to level up your subclass. Probably more, but I haven't played too much so far.
