So some guy just reported me...
Let me start by saying that I am not good at crucible. Average at best. I am also not a cheater. I just had maybe my personal best game in control. 25 kills and a score of over 5700. Led the lobby.
Some guy messaged me and said I was a red bar cheater and that he was reporting me lol. I am 35 years old with a wife and a little one. I hardly ever play crucible, so I am definitely not a cheater.
What happens when you get "reported". I have good internet and even pay Time Warner extra for it lol. Maybe he was just a sore loser... Thoughts?
Edit 1 - Thanks for all the replies guardians! Haha, looks like I'll be fine lol! A lot of my buddies don't play anymore, so if you need someone to play, add me! I'm on Xbox One and my GT is the same. Thanks!

Nothing will happen, if you have a string of reports then they may boot you for a couple of days. Dont worry about one butt hurt individual.

Maybe your NAT types weren't compatible. I normally have really good internet speed but every now and again I'll run into someone with a closed NAT then everything starts tanking.

The servers are this weird p2p hybrid and so the person hosting might of been lagging. It happens more often than not.

You were probably legging a bit in that game. May have just gotten a foreign host. Either way, I would've reported you, and let you know, but it would just be for bad connection so we don't get put in a lobby together again. I use the report button to filter who I play with. Nothing against you.

Time Warner Internet is the worst in the US. Literally everyone I play with that has it lags in this game.

Bungie has software that watches for unusual packet transfer between server and router, standard lag is very sporadic in its packet sending/recieving,lag switching is extremely noticeable due to it having an organized control of packets. So providing you didn't actually manipulate your game your are golden :).

You should always report red bars in the hope it gives some insight into why our P2P connections are so bad sometimes. It should help with matchmaking algorithms. I only add cheating if I see someone bouncing between red and green constantly. More often than not, they are manipulating their connection for an unfair advantage.

I report people with red bars, only if they run into the wall or stand there taking a beating and then pop up else where to kill us. I've even reported people on my team. I've gotten the red bar, but it isn't my internet or cheating, so I hope I never get a ban hammer thrown at me.

Once a report like this is sent in Bungie immediately turns if over to their Red Bar and Fraud Unit. They jump on it at once and check the history of your connection to the game, k/d, win/loss ratio, bank accounts and credit and criminal history. If they spot one issue at all they ban you for a month for the first offence. You don't want to know what happens on the second offence!

1 RispondiBungie doesn't just act on someone's sore loser attitude. They do if fact look at the data and ban if data shows you were cheating. I know they have mentioned if you do have issues like seeing a red bar in which that is not your internet but your actual connection to the host you might get a temporary suspension until your internet improves. For this to actual happen you would need to have dial internet LOL. I have been reported multiple times with a bad connection to the host and good connection to the host don't worry. I'm also not a cheater and not that great either.

Every time I read one of these posts I report someone for being highly skilled when they have a good game just to balance it out.

One time I was playing Elimination on Shores of Time against a scumbag team. I mean these guys were using cheap guns and were also teabagging a hell of a lot. They were good, but my team played the map better, and we ended up getting it tied at 4-4 (they led 0-3 and we managed to catch up because of the heavy). It was a series of kill and revive for both teams, but eventually my team charged in with supers and killed them. I started teabagging the Titan that was constantly teabagging me. I got hate mail from him afterwards, calling me a, quote, "Lag switching little bitch." I was green barring the whole game, just like the rest of my team.
