I have a post on the problems with weapons if anybody wants to check it out.
Bungie claimed they were "changing how
light works", yet all this is in the TTK is a rebranding of light level. The overall experience level cap was increased, basically doubled, due to a new, very large expansion. I understand that and commend Bungie for allowing experience to determine level, not gear. However, the new light system, an average of both weapon damage and armor defense stats, is awful. This causes two problems. Firstly, no customization. The raid gear will have a higher light level and everybody will have raid gear on because it gives the highest light level. Unless I am wrong and infusion will make all armor even, in which case makes the raid not mandatory, but for fun
I am wrong, all armor from the TTK will be infusable to max light level, sorry. Should have done more researcg
The second, and bigger problem, is what if I really like a weapon, but it's damage stat is too low? It becomes unusable. The last problem I have with this new system is the new stat system. Bungie said that old armor and weapons will still be useable in the crucible. While that is correct, the stats on old armor is significantly lower. Prior to the update, I had full intellect and discipline. I got my grenades every thirty seconds, yes I did time this. Now, it takes 50 seconds. What the hell? I understand that it's still useable, but my whole stat build for crucible, which I have worked on since I got the game in October, is now inferior. I also hate the fact that armor can't be upgraded. I understand that bungie wants people to use the new armor and weapons, but at least allow our armor to be upgrades, whether that's through a long and hard quest or something. Bungie stated that they wanted players to carve their own experience and play how they want to play, but how can I do that if I like my armor that is now useless? I have every iron banner armor peice for my hunter, both regalia and breed sets. I have grinded for that armor like everybody else and now, I can't even use it in the crucible because the stats are too low. The only thing I am asking for is either allow a hard quest that gives us a material that can upgrade old armor, or at least make the stats even to what they were/what the new armor stats are going to be. I can't use my old armor because it will take an extra 20 seconds to get another grenade. I went from 24 grenades to 14.4 grenades (presuming there are no boost like melee hits recharge grenade energy). That's 10 less grenades. This needs to be fixed.
Bum if you agree
Comment on what you think
Edit 1: thank you all for all your opinions and making this a trending topic. Let's let Bungie know what's wrong here and hopefully, they will fix it.
Edit 2: Guys, we made it to the top 10 and are the highest trending in this topic! Keep bumping and voting, every vote counts. Let's aim for number 1! Eyes up Guardians!
Edit 3: Currently at number 5 and still the highest trending in this topic, I just want to say thank you to all the people here who have made this so popular, and to those who have tried to troll, may I say, without idiots, what else would make life interesting? Keep voting, I think we have just WOKEN THE HIVE

1 RispondiI like it but I can never find blues that are worth infusing I'm 260 and I can't go higher unless I infuse my extiocs into my legendary which is 2500 glimmer a go my legs and relic are still below 270 meaning my light level stay 260 which pisses me off I have to 8 dailys in or to get the legendary marks need to upgrade this will take ages to get all three guardians to 300 light.
-
1 RispondiThere is still customization you can infuse your raid gear with another weapon
-
3 RisposteLight level is just gear score. It's a vast improvement because a single low piece won't drastically reduce your damage output. but complaining that you need to have powerful gear to run the content is just comical.
-
I just think it's redundant. Someone at bungie is holding onto this light idea like it's their favorite vanilla exotic. Lol.

1 RispondiModificato da Chilly S0ul: 9/19/2015 11:15:40 AMYour first point was wrong and you admitted to that. Your second point is still wrong though. Weapons can be infused too. As for your final point, I'm very confused. If I'm understanding this correctly you think old gear has worse stats on it? I still haven't found a better shotgun than fellwinters lie In ttk. You also claim that you enjoyed the basic armor upgrades on gear? You liked mindlessly grinding to max out something that should've already been the best option? Are you insane??
-
2 RisposteI hate the new light system. I don't want to be forced to wear a cloak I hate and I'd like to be able to use the guns I like and not have to toss them aside just in favor of getting my light level higher.
-
I just got use to it, now I'm carrying low level armor up. Love the way my stats came out!
-
2 RisposteThe new system breaths life into the game. Bored of the fact that you've reached your playstyles perfection? Get new shit! Your stuff still works in crucible. Iron banner and trials will now be more balanced until the new broken guns emerge. I'm psyched. People whine too much.

With You!

7 RisposteThere is one thing you didn't mention... If there is a different piece of gear you like better than the raid set you can sacrifice the raid gear to make that other legendary better, whether it's an armor piece or weapon it works the same.

Yeah infusion works on all year 2 gear and weaponry (as long as it's legendary or exotic that is) and as you get and upgrade better gear you'll find that your intellect, strength and discipline also increase depending on which stat is on each piece of gear and which you choose to upgrade
-
1 RispondiThat is where infuse comes in if you find a bit of gear you like you can dismantle a stronger item for its attack or defence stats and light level
-
I'm with you. I cannot stand that my armor I used pre-update is now less useful in the game in general. The intellect/discipline/strength is was dropped and half the perks are just plain broken.
-
I'm not sure if you guys noticed but at the bottom of your screen is this like this light exo bar thing that levels up from killing enemies, but it progresses very slowly
-
They did change how it works, it just the same but different
-
The intellect/ discipline / strength I what bothers me the most and I hope that when TTK drops they increase the amount of intellect/ discipline / strength that is on a price of armor so that I can get my supers up quicker and smash the ground more than once per game
-
2 RisposteI copied most of this from a previous post I made. I'm surprised more people aren't upset about the armor stats. I hate the way intellect/discipline/strength scale in effectiveness now. In the old system, the effectiveness of your gear stats was scaled by your level. My Titan has had high percentage bonuses on at least one stat since he was level 10 (he kept receiving Engrams from a couple of high-level Guardians who mysteriously had the same name as he does). Because they removed that scaling, he now has worse stat bonuses as a level 34 with full Prison of Elders armor than he did as a level 10 wearing blues. They have made it so that, unless you are at level 40 and in the Taken King endgame, this whole aspect of your character development is vestigial. Even if that won't mean anything after the first week or so for most players, it's still terrible game design. Things like that should be introduced to players has they progress, not dumped on them all at once after they cross some arbitrary threshold. I suspect that threshold may be intentional, though. It effectively makes it so that players who decide to pass on Taken King, or even just wait until Christmas, can't even be competitive in Crucible. That they would deliberately break a means of character progression in order to restrict players who aren't buying in right away is the sort of practice I would've expected to see more push back against, but most people seem more upset over weapon balance.

Agreed, the tier system is pretty awful. And the max tier hardly matters compared to old gear setups. Needs to be re evaluated to say the least.
-
-
18 RisposteThe only time I can see this being a problem is in Iron Banner where everything matters. In crucible everything is the same so you can wear whatever you want.
-
6 RisposteInfusion should remedy this and allow more customization.
-
14 RisposteIm confused with how it all works now. I'm over Bungie's vague descriptions of stats. Yes light increases attack and defense but can we quantify that a little more? How much does it help? Also i'm capped at like 167/168 light and i can't determine how to get light level 170; how much light does each gun and piece of armor add? Why did that stat disappear?
-
1 RispondiOne word dude Infusion...

Is that even a question?
