i see SO many posts about how people can't wait to break out suros, hardlight etc., and shit on people using hand cannons, as if they are finally going to see who the more skilled player is or something. obviously i'm a little frustrated with stupid shit like this, but i am legitimately trying to understand your line of thinking. how is laying on the trigger with a huge magazine, max stability, and no need to time shots or reacquire targets because you're just laying on the trigger and spraying a skilled thing? in what universe does it make sense that an auto rifle should have a faster ttk in ANY situation than a hand cannon?
EDIT: i guess now i know how it felt for guys that used autorifles before when they got nerfed. i honestly am ok with the autorifle buff, but not at the expense of nerfing handcannons to the point of being worthless. that sounds pretty familiar. touche auto rifle users, touche. there is one thing that you are REALLY failing to realize, however. just like you were able to eventually adjust and use hand cannons, i will also adjust to laying on the trigger or tapping people with pulse rifles. i was able to kill you from pretty damn far away with a highly inaccurate tlw before in 3 shots. trust me, i will be able to use an autorifle or a pulse rifles. don't think my thumbs just all of a sudden stopped working simply because i have to adjust. you will still lose to those of us that were good with tlw. might not be overnight, but you will still lose. enjoy it while you can

What I'm trying to figure out is why people like you think there is any skill involved in a PVP game with a low budget net code and peer to peer network?? Success for the most part is just the luck of the connection.
-
Only shotguns require no skill. Handcannon range deserved the nerf.
-
No, YOU DON'T KNOW anything about the game mechanics and need an excuse to make urself superior Shots from handcannons hit like a truck and are easy to land due to having a very high auto tracking assist just as pulse rifles have Auto rifles have this same characteristic but much weaker and makes tracking opponents a more demanding task than using handcannons Its easier to track mobile opponents to land shots and have consistently high ttks compared to auto rifles where screw ups affect your ttk more and run the risk of missing far more even at close range
-
1 RispondiAnd it is still possible to get kills with hand cannons you just have to be decent I rotated around with legendaries of every archetype of every gun (high impact & Low ROF vs Mid to Low impact & High ROF) and it all seems incredibly balanced to me I applaud Bungie for the work they have done
-
They buffed them but also nerfed the aim assist making it harder to land consecutive crits. I haven't played yet but on paper they tried but u never know what that means. Also were getting some new toys soon
-
If you spray and pray - you have no skill If you mag dump - you have no skill. If you can successfully burst fire while controlling recoil to get headshots on headshots and multiple kills per magazine, then you have autorifle skill. The problem with ARs before was that the former skill did not result in the latter. You HAD to find a laser stable AR and mag dump into the head and upper body, and even then you might not get the kill. At least now the thumb skill and trigger discipline of a good AR user will be rewarded.

2 RisposteI'm still destroying kids with TLW. Let them use their handicap auto rifles.
-
I was doing fine a while ago with a hand cannon and the majority of players were using auto rifles.
-
Need some cheese? I don't know anyone that just lays on the trigger with an auto rifle. I personally burst them 3 to 8. Thank battlefield 3. As for skill. Most of the hand cannons could kill with three critical shots which you can get a lot easier than an entire clip or even half a clip of an auto rifle. Controlling recoil varies and is hard to compare to a hand cannons recoil since cannons aren't auto. But you grab a weapon like atheons epilogue and try putting an entire clip into an enemy and make every shot critical then talk to me. I'd say the skill level is 50/50

Hand cannons take infinitely less shots to kill, and are just as simple to use. So. There that is
-
Im happy their viable in pve. Ill stick to scouts or pulse in pvp

Since when is destiny skilled based?
-
From what I've seen so far the new maps cater to autos and shotguns in a big way, haven't played all the new ones though. Hard light was destroying in vertigo though, just aim down a hall at the wall and unload, let the ricochet kill everything. Was very frustrating on the receiving end but great fun to dish out lol.
-
In case you didn't read the patch notes, they nerfed auto rifles base stability, meaning much more skill is required to get concurrent headshots than what used to be.
-
Nice Thorn...
-
8 RisposteIt;s because scrubs can't understand there logic. Least with thron you had to aim then retreat safely. With auto rifles its spray and pray.
-
You're talking about destiny. This game doesn't require skill.
-
Handcannons took less skill
-
Because not everyone cares what you think.
-
Sees OP's shotguns equipped ... Moves on
-
2 RisposteIf you compare the combat in Destiny to real life combat, then yes, Assault Rifles should have a lower TTK. Last time I checked, in all conflicts around the world, the good guys are trying to take out the bad guys with M16's and M4's. They're not running around with 44. Magnums and Dessert Eagles.

A post about me muting you.

I've played around 20 games of crucible since the download, in my honest opinion, it's not a great deal different, I do seem to have to be hitting that extra shot with the hawkmoon/thorn/tlw though, and a lot of people are using the vex/juju/red death etc, so sniper is a little trickier especially as most of the new maps still cater to cqc types :/
-
5 RisposteSkill and Destiny don't even belong in the same sentence all of you are delusional as f and would probably run to mommy crying if you spent even a minute in a real competitive FPS like Counter Strike.
-
And in what universe should a hand gun out distance a rifle?
-
7 RisposteSkill is skill regardless of weapon.. Give me the most OP weapon you could imagine and I would still suck at PVP. I like autorifles because its fun to empty a whole clip into a dreg. I like handcannons because its fun to head shot a whole group of dregs with a single mag. I like scout rifles because its fun to shoot dregs from 100 meters and watch them twitch with every shot. It's a video game. I think the idea is to have fun playing it....
