I just got a total realization from this one guy talking about the upcoming nerfs. Im fairly concerned about this, when a specific gun gets nerfed, it seems that its entire class gets nerfed as well. When Suros got nerfed, the entire auto rifle class got nerfed and went to the toilet. When Pocket Infinity got nerfed, the entire fusion rifle class got nerfed as well and went to the crapper.
Once Auto Rifles and Fusion Rifles got nerfed people went towards Hand Cannons and Shotguns, admittedly so did I as I started with Auto and Fusion Rifles and moved onto HandCannons and Shotguns(Though Im a sniper now).
Anyways, if you have to nerf a specific weapon why nerf its entire class? Why not nerf them individually? Does it make sense. To me it just seems silly, I mean the nerfing forced people to Hand Cannons. Once Hand Cannons get nerfed, people will move onto Pulse Rifles.
I guess we'll have to wait till the update to see how everything turns out.
Also, to those who continue to whine and rage and what not, do you children really think this will make you better? Balancing shouldn't be about weapons but rather matchmaking. Someone who is a LvL 7 shouldn't be going up against a group of 34's. But thats just my opinion...Seriously, Im certain once Pulse Rifles become the main thing in crucible, people will whine about it too. **Waaahhhhhhhhh** I got killed by Messenger! Nerf it!
Im just getting annoyed by it. Thats all.
Edit: I think people are misunderstanding what Im talking about. I don't mind that they're tweaking TWL/Thorn/Hawkmoon. Just the fact that my concern is that HCs will be absolete, now of course I don't known how much they'll be effected since its not Sept 8th yet. My concern, why nerf the entire class to fix a few weapons.

If they brought different dynamic maps to the playlist you wouldnt have to nerf. But all the maps are small close action so no sniping or range fights

Very good post. It's an endless cycle of witch hunting and appeasement. Bungie has a fine line to walk because exotics are meant to reward and keep people grinding. Bungie measures success by average time a user is online playing. If exotics get nerfed into being nothing special, people won't chase them or use them and play less. It's total carrot and stick. I agree about making individual tweaks.

Absolete Absolutely obsolete :(

Even so this nerf is much different than the last few. This one they have been working on since the second week of HOW when thorn starting to show some signs of it being op. So this nerf has been months in the making where as the suros and the vex nerf happened within weeks of them becoming a problem.
-
Hand canons are also getting a specific nerf because most of them can snipe
-
1 RispondiI started a playstation account 2 months ago and absolutely wrecked groups of 34s as a level 6.
-
In case you haven't heard, they are buffing auto-rifles and fusion rifles. They will probably become the meta again.
-
Theyre trying to do seasons
-
-
Pulse rifles won't be able to 2-burst kill anymore so I doubt people will complain about that.
-
8 RisposteIt's not really a problem. Devs have said in interview that they will continually nerf/buff individual exotics and whole weapon types throughout the life of destiny, ensuring every weapon has its moment in the sun, so to speak. As you pointed out, this time last year auto rifles and fusion rifles were OP whilst hand cannons and shotguns were underpowered. Now hand cannons and shotguns are OP whilst auto rifles and fusion rifles are underpowered. Now we're starting year two things are going back to how they were before. Yes it's going to mix things up a bit, yes there will be complaining and yes it will put people out of their comfort zone. That's the whole point and at worst it's not going to last more than 3 months before they nerf the auto rifles and fusion rifles again and buff scout rifles and sidearms. Or something similar.

1 RispondiA Nerf is what happened to autorifles. This is a patch designed to balance the game and allow more viable weapons for PvP. Hand cannons are losing effective range. They aren't losing all their stats. Just their effective range.

9 RisposteModificato da Adam: 9/6/2015 11:58:12 AMI'm sick of people crying about Bungie re-balancing weapons.... I mean, have you seen the state of the PvP?! It needs to be addressed. I don't want to feel forced into using , or maybe 2 weapons in order to compete. It's boring. Literally every FPS game with as much variety as Destiny has to have balancing patches. Why do the derps on these forums not understand that? Do Bungie go too far with some of their changes? Yes. But some things need to be fixed. Hopefully they have actually tested these changes out.
-
1 RispondiNo it wont. Shut up.
-
Its basically impossible to make a game fully balanced. So you have to make several patches before u even get close. Its a bit annoying when they make a whole weapon class useless tho. I agree with matchmaking. Its a -blam!-ing joke. Stop pairing fireteams vs randomers.
-
This is one of those games that will constantly be in flux. The moment I realized this, all became well in the world again. Treat it like a really good zombie movie. Never get attached to your favorite character, or gun, in this instance.
-
2 RisposteExcept they're also buffing guns with this patch. It's called balancing. They can and should keep tweaking the game as it evolves. New weapons are introduced, the meta shifts, and Bungie has to keep track of it to make sure it doesn't become stagnant. If anything, they aren't doing enough.
-
3 RisposteARs went to hell because the way Bungie could adjust them was not fine enough tuned. This is why they are programming in a new statistic.
-
-
Yeah they over nerf everything. Like that. Good news is comparing vids part of the HC nerf appears to be reduced or removed. The only justification for it other than incompetence is that they're trying to force redistribution of weapons, but if they're gonna do that, then they really need to be quicker to rebut weapons back to balance.

Modificato da Un1337ninj4: 9/6/2015 5:21:24 AMHandCs aren't getting hit that hard really, all of it's tailored to giving Scouts a chance to shine over the currently blatantly superior Legendary HandC. The mag hit's a bit questionable but I doubt it'll be felt in any meaningful way. Seven shots is enough for most especially when coupled with something like Outlaw or Feeding Frenzy.
-
4 RisposteThe exotics are the problem most of the time. Thorn and TLW are overpowered, but EVERY OTHER hand cannon archetype is a three shot headshot and four shot body shot, excluding the perks. The non-exotic hand cannons were fine in my opinion, it was just the exotics. With auto rifles, they were fine after that first nerf they got. The focused fire perk could've had a damage tweak, but that would've been all, as it was a big reason Autos got nerfed in the first place (since the suros regime had it). final note: Exotics are the problem, Bungie should use the scalpel, not the hammer.

1 RispondiIt is because Bungie is lazy
