They are very useful throughout gameplay on any mode. Angel of Light was cool as an optional subclass perk, but a waste as a primary exotic perk. So is the increased glimmer farming. There are already consumables that serve that purpose. Bungie is creatively bankrupt.

While you make a compelling post, a lot of us that have stuck through Destiny from it's beginning have been annoyed by the "regression" of the gear that they are making, and I think that is coming into play a bit here. Now while I agree everything shouldn't be OP, the total lack of interesting and useful perks on things is what is getting people upset. Take House of Wolves weapons for example... All of the Weapons basically came with ONE perk and a semi useless Fallen based perk. Compare that to say the Crota weapons where SOME of them had 2 perks PLUS a hive disruptor perk. Compare that to the Vault of Glass weapons which all have 2 perks plus an oracle disruptor perk. See the trend? There is a clear regression there on the overall usefulness of the weapons. Yes you can argue that they WANT guns to be super situational, but if they are rewards for doing the hardest activities (raids) they SHOULD be the MOST usable weapons overall EVERYWHERE and NOT situational (at least in my opinion). So for example if you wanted to give 1 perk to generic vanguard/crucible drop weapons and 2 perks to raid weapons THAT would be something a little more understandable because you worked harder to gain those weapons and didn't just wait on RNG. Now you could argue the VoG weapons are OP based on the perks they were given, but that's a different issue than them basically removing/reducing perks on guns. Personally I don't need OP perks, just give me 2 perks that go nicely together, or that make me interested in using the gun/armor, and that's fine by me. If you make the exotic gear TOO situational (and I think this is the problem we are running into here) it becomes very hard to justify it's use as your one and only Exotic. When we (as a whole) see perks on new exotics that we feel are underwhelming, we have a right to get a little bit annoyed, because presumably they (Bungie) are listening to what we have to say about things, yet their designs sorta suggest otherwise. Let's take the new Titan Helmet as an example... While you personally may love the idea of Titans gaining an Angel of Light like perk, a vast majority (and of course that's what we deal with here is the majority) of people see this as a "bad" perk for an exotic. Combine this with a second perk that is also suspect, and then you get people a bit mad. Why? Because we would rather see NEW and interesting things than you stick what most people see as a bad old perk (Angel of Light) give it to another class and call it exotic. Does it mean it's a totally useless exotic? That's for each person to decide. No one says that it's crap for "everyone" or at least they shouldn't, but they also have a right to their own opinion as well if they think it's trash. I gave my personal opinion on the 5 new exotics shown, and I was pretty annoyed as a year 1 player that they decided to show off these particular exotics, because they are NOT a good representation of the direction I as a long time player want to see them take with exotics. (But again that's MY opinion). I think the Titan Helmet is garbage, The Warlock Chest is TOO situational (Glimmer Farming, which IMO should be a perk for a class item or ghost NOT a chest piece). But I really liked the Hunter Gloves and their potential. As for the two weapons, Chaperone looked neat, but it is going to depend on its initial stats and how much a Buff you get from precision kills (since it's a Solar Shotgun and we are getting Invective 2.0 as an option). And I liked the Telesto "in theory" even though I am not a personal fan of perks that help your fireteam (like Lord of Wolves health regen or this Telesto generating orbs) and not ALSO you yourself, but again that's just me. I don't know, you aren't going to please everyone, but they had to know that these exotics possibly weren't a good selection to show off... The idea was to generate more Hype, and these (for me) didn't do that.

Whining about whiners...it's Whineception! But seriously, why does anyone care that people go on forums to complain? If an individual doesn't want to use exotic Y then no one is going to force them to use exotic Y. If you think old stuff should be left behind, then by all means, dismantle it. It's about choice. Though, I do agree on one point. I have no problem with complaints, that is how stuff gets done and improved. What I do get bothered by is the baseless complaints and the incoherent jargon that people use to lodge those complaints. Present a rational, thought out argument, and you'll be listened to, not always agreed with, but listened to.

100% agree! It's not too late for people who are upset about it to either cancel or get a refund. I don't understand why people continue to spend money on a product they think is shit. "I bet TTK is going to be horrible, but I don't have any other games to play, so I'm going to spend money on it --TOO MUCH MONEY BUNGIE THIEVES -- and then bitch about it." The new titan helmet will be great for distraction bubbles in crota's end. That way I won't come close to blowing myself up every time I have to lock on.

So you are unhappy at the "state of play" in a given situation and are unhappy about this so you have posted that. Others on here that are unhappy about the state of play in another situation come here to post. What makes your unhappiness more worthy than theirs.

Whilst I didn't agree with raging about TDB & then HOW I could understand why players were feeling short changed having pre-ordered that content. However, in this instance there is outrage based on players perceptions about the changes, as TTK hasn't actually dropped. Also though, even if anybody has ordered TTK now , that can be cancelled right up until launch. The solution is for those who are unhappy to simply wait & see what TTK is about before buying the content. Why is there raging on here ? You have played a game for a year & presumably achieved what you wanted from it. No obligation to play follow up content. We can choose whether we have had enough or to buy the content regardless. Many of the posts on the topic of TTK are self-entitled. You have spent time playing a game just like any other.
