I loathe people who boast about their "real life priorities."
I dread coming across people like this in gaming.
You know the guy that says stuff like... "well i have real life priorities like my mortgage, my car, my wife and kid." They try to belittle you like they are somehow better than you.
Well let me tell you something dbag, I don't care about any of that. I don't care about your responsibilities or priorities.
And let me tell you that MY priority in life is watching films, going to the gym, and playing video games. Now let me ask you...why the hell are your priorities somehow better or more important than mine?

Yes, your priorities are all about you. You are a selfish guy. We get it. Other people have responsibilities. You don't. Got it.

I do have real life priorities though like.... And uh.... Plus on the weekends I go to my grandma's and she makes me tons of delicious food.

Everyone has bills, family, and other real life priorities. That's if they're actually adults. There are so many kids that play this game and their only priority is school, then destiny until their parents say it's bed time.

I think they are pointing out that if the hardest part of their lives was asking someone if they want fries with their burger, then they could play more Destiny.

That is just their lame excuse for being terrible at games. I work 50-70 hours a week. I have a son and a wife. I still found time to down Skolas. I still have a 1.0+ k/d ratio. Whenever someone has to bring that up just remind yourself they are lame at games as well as debate.

Depends on the context. If you're beating them and they bring up how they have real life things to take care of so that's why they're bad, then I agree. If it's like "hey, I gotta leave because my kid is having a nightmare" (which has happened to me in the middle of a raid btw), it's totally understandable. All about dat context doe.

1 RispondiFinally someone said something. It's so hard to convince my wife that I don't need to take care of our three year old daughter. I mean, she can reach most of the shelves in the cabinet, why do I need to feed her? And my boss expecting me on time and alert at work. At the end of the day I'm worrying if I got my dailies done or grinded enough to bump my grimoire by 5 points. Not about whether I did the job he's paying me for or not. I mean, why even live if I'm not doing what I want 24/7. That's why I'm glad people realize I don't actually care about whatever "responsibilities" that pull me out of the game. Every second I spend out of it I'm busy hating the poor choices that led me to a wife, child, and full time job...

Always seem to forget to add being a smug, sanctimonious tool to their list of accomplishments. Hate to break it to you, but your wife's probably a halfwit, your kids are gonna grow up to be unbearable dickheads like dear old dad and you'll barely have finished paying off that mortgage your so proud about before you'll have to sell up to pay for that round the clock dementia care you're going to need. Games are supposed to be a distraction from real life, and anyone that has to come on a gaming forum to tell strangers how proud they are of what the vast majority of the people in the world also do (without banging on about it) must lack real life friends to talk about real life things with, which on reflection is hardly surpising.

7 RisposteIts a reason to not have completed the grind of Destiny and gotten that cool shader, emblem and Gally drop. Many people want a great game without the senseless time consuming effort that Destiny requires. Having a job, a wife and kids as well as other responsibilities gets in the way of a true Bungie gamer......a gamer that is required to spend exorbitant amounts of times chasing the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Not everyone gets to live off of mom and dad forever.

Everything you listed has absolutely no real life pay back at all. As a matter of fact the things you listed make you sound like an adolescent white kid who had mom and dad pay for everything you get in life. Some things in life matter and most things do not.
