So, I'm going to Europe next year to visit my friend living in Paris from next July to August. He's from America and has only lived in Paris for a short time.
We plan on going to a few metal festivals such as Hellfest, Wacken, Bloodstock, and Download.
We plan on going to Gamescom, if our university schedules allow for it.
We plan on road/sea tripping.
Countries we are going to Czech out:
France
Spain
Germany
(Possibly) Italy
United Kingdom
Norway
Sweden
Tell me where within these countries we should go and why, as well as places we should avoid at all costs. Bonus points for nature destinations. If you think we should visit another country, that's cool, too. Any other events you think might be cool? Pls help guide me through your continent.

2 RisposteModificato da LadiesMan217164: 8/19/2015 4:20:28 PMIf you are going to the England I would highly recommend going to the South part of the Lake District (Windermere, Ambleside around those places) if you can focus most of your time there mid-week because on some weekends especially in the summer holiday times can be very busy with other tourists. If you enjoy driving try Kanku in Windermere you can hire some jeeps go off-road and explore a lot of really nice places. If not I recommend trying some Wain Wright walks while you are there but some can be a lot harder than they first seem so be careful with which walks you decide to do. But mostly just enjoy the scenery.

- Avoid france by all means - If You're Going to Germany, Bavaria is the best Place to Be
-
Berlin is very nice, nature wise Bavaria is picturesque and Munich beer halls are good

Spain Basque region is nice Germany Lots of nice places along the Rhine. Italy Go to Verona, it's remarkable. United Kingdom I'm from here and honestly, unless you're coming for a specific reason then the South is the best. If you're going anywhere else in the UK as a base then let me know and I'll suggest places to visit. Norway & Sweden Never been but I'm jealous. Other: Eastern Europe is fantastic, notably Lake Bled and the places around there. Google it.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Got some interesting things to do in the UK now.

On the south coast of England there is a seaside town called Eastbourne where in august there is a big airshow called airborne (look it up) with the red arrows and many other planes and helicopters, also the town is a good tourist destination with lots of restaurants and hotels and also very pretty cliffs.

1 RispondiNorway and Sweden are usually better in the winter when there is a lot of deep snow in most parts and there is lots of winter/snow and ice based activities to do but it's still nice in the summer. Germany I've only been to köln that was good but nothing special if your on a trip like yours maybe Berlin would be better. Italy, especially in summer, is beautiful no matter where you go I would recommend you spend longer in Italy. Spain can be very hot in summer I know that but I've never been so I got nothing for Spain. Greece is fantastic as well (as a place) but I found that the Greek islands were actually better - beaches are great, views are spectacular, hotels are flawless - and in Cyprus if you like golf defiantly visit Cyprus there is loads of golf courses to choose from smaller, relaxing ones to big, challenging, pro courses. I think that's all I got if I remember more I'll post it.
