There needs to be difficult exotic bounties that yield truly exotic guns to make guns that are actually earned. Game. Set. Match

    I'd counter with the idea that Xur functions as he does now, but that special upgrades for exotics that add perks/elements/etc. would be "earned" strike/raid/etc. rewards in addition to the random gear drops. Not just boosting the rating of the item (like ascension does), but adding diversity to its configuration. There could even be a fairly wide range of "plugin" types to really shake things up. Maybe even static high-end upgrades for certain content as well as random rolls. Think the crux with a wider range of functions and availability.

  • If there was a way to limit the exotic upgrade to the character. It would make it more rare to have a gun, because you can only change it once ya know?

  • I would like bounties that arnt random to start, like you can get the bounties from someone in the world, or even a common drop. However parts of bounty are either really hard to find (like a random drop) or have you go back and complete raids, like defeating atheon for part of a bounty, however that could fit into the lore idk but still. That way it could keep old content relevant, while having newer players be able to run the old content without searching high and low for people that want to do it. This way you have a full fireteam of people that are working to beat a raid, but for separate reasons
