Xur. Being able to buy such unique and powerful weapons from a vendor is ridiculous. I've seen a ton of ideas on ways to fix him, and I don't care how he gets fixed, I just want it fixed by the time Taken King comes out. I want to wear exotics that when people see me wearing it they say "Man.. How'd he get that? That's so rare!" And not "Man.. I hope Xur sells it this week!"
Take Hawkmoon and Gjallarhorn for example. Before Gjallarhorn was sold this week, it was the most sought after and most rare weapon alongside Hawkmoon and that is due to it not being sold by Xur ever except for well two when nobody wanted an exotic heavy.
Right now, 'exotic' is not a fitting term for that tier of weapons. The Taken King is a step in the right direction with quests and such to get the new exotics, but I don't want to go through getting a new exotic weapon or armor and being excited that I will be among the few to have it only to have Xur sell it that week and just be one of the millions that got it.
I get that you earn strange coins and that some exotics just won't drop for you. I'm missing the Hawkmoon and the Crux, but I'd never want Xur to sell such elusive items. It takes away their rarity and it becomes just another "exotic" that everyone has.
With all the steps Taken King is taking to move forward, not doing something about Xur would be 50 steps back. This is very much a shoot and loot game, and having some of the most sought after items be easily obtained through a vendor does not create epic moments at all. I, for one, do not feel like I've "Become Legend" after buying an exotic weapon.
I hope to see this changed; it needs to happen.
Edit- With all this said, I understand why the current Xur is important to people. Since RNG is cruel, is nice to have a guaranteed way of getting that one item you want. I'm not bashing people who "Xurn" I'm just saying that I think there needs to be a better system in place
Edit 2- I've taken out the part about losing value in exotics when Xur sells them bc you guys are right, what does it matter? There is no trading/barter system anyways. Also, for those of you calling me elitist, I'm not being elitist. I'm not being a special snow flake or whatever. I'm literally just wanting there to be a legitimate way of earning exotics. I don't see how I'm being elitist when I said I want people to admire rare armor I have. I mean, I want to look like a badass like nobody has seen so they'll be like "wow he did a lot of crap to get that". So yeah try not throwing around terms you kids read on the internet without knowing what they mean.

Id rather xur sell an exotic than it be a bounty or a reward for doing a mission. It took almost a year for most ppl to get the ghorn because of xur. If it were a bounty, everyone would of had it around October 2014 instead of August 2015. I will say xur should only come twice a month instead of every week. But thats about it.

There is NO earning. You grind and get a random drop.

Modificato da Blade Abattoir: 8/17/2015 1:12:15 AMBungie already has this- it's called Trials of Osiris. And Raid gear. And exotic bounties. The issue here is that the 14 exotic weapons and various armor pieces that Xur sells each week were NEVER supposed to be considered status symbols. Those are reserved for raid gear, ToO, and bounties. I don't know when you started playing the game, but back in the pre-TDB age, being level 30 was HARD. Most people bought an exotic from Xur to get there waiting for that last piece of armor to drop in VOG after many tries. Having the complete set meant bragging rights. My point is that Xur's stuff didn't mean a thing to anyone back then. It's only been since this Gally obsession that Xur has been given grief for selling a base exotic that people decided made them special in a way that VOG armor used to. So, my advice is go get a set of VOG armor, dump etheric light into it, and walk around the tower like a boss. Xur won't ever sell it, and you have to do many, many raids to get it. You will have "earned" it, if that's how you want to feel.

Modificato da Cant Aim: 8/17/2015 1:19:47 AMThis topic wasn't even a real issue before this past weekend. You posses no solution or any idea that could ever even remotely in 10 years make this game any better in any possible way at all. Anyone who has or ever will read this topic is now worse at this game than they were before. Xur is fine, let bungie make the game. Had 2 gallys before this weekend

People like you just want to watch the world burn..

I see my shipment of salt has arrived.

2 RisposteXur exists to give players a chance to obtain Exotics they have not acquired randomly. The only weapons Xur will not sell are those available through Exotic bounties, or unique game quests, such as a Raid (e.g., Fang, Fate, etc.) or challenge (e.g., Eris gauntlets, PoE gifts, etc.) I agree with this system.
-
The system is fine, people like you are what's wrong with Destiny and needs to change. If not, then GTFO no one wants you here anyway. I'll call the Wambulance
-
You're so salty that cows would flock for miles just to get a single lick of you.

2 RisposteThe thing is there are plenty of players who have worked as hard as you did. They haven't gotten it yet. The rng doesn't reward equal work with equal rewards. Them buying the Gjallahorn doesn't make your grind meaningless either. Because you did the grind. I'm guessing you made friends. Had fun. Did a lot of cool stuff. The Gjallahorn wasn't the reward. The experience was. Just a thought for a penny.

'Kind of' the same reason I don't wanna buy mounts from the black market auction house in wow...

Elitist. Just play and worry about your own gear.

R.I.P op Gally here comes the nerf

3 RisposteWhat needs to change or destiny will die is the winning babies posting stuff like you are in the forums. Go sit on the customer support line for an hour and tell them your issues.

2 RisposteWhat you classify as "rare" and hard to get isn't gonna be the same as everyone else. Like Hawkmoon for example. It's rare for you because you still didn't have one. I got my first Hawkmoon on my second nightfall ever 8 months ago. Then have had another 3 drop since. NLB, which everyone seems to have 16 of, I just got 3 days ago.

I don't mind if xur leaves , I mean he could sell a random weapon like once a month . or sell engrams . just handing out Exotics when others had to play & grind is just not fair in a way. don't get me wrong I bought my first icebreaker from xur and Truth , red death , last word. I could have earned them & the game would have kept me interested in playing till I got them but RNG is way off as well . there has to be a balance between that endless grind with no reward & Xur .
-
2 RisposteUm your kinda being a bit selfish and like the rest of things don't go the way towards everyone's favor so in the end can I say this for everyone reading comments can you tone down your expectations and ease on the pleading towards bungie fixing on the smallest things In game because every time bungie does something to please the few people others do not want the same interests as you 😕
-
Bump exactly xur was a poor choice I mean there needs to be some sort of change
-
why don't they just make the exotics cost more strange coins? like gally should hv cost 75 strange coins. that way some people can buy maybe one, a few could buy 2. but like have red death be a high tier cost weapon as well, like 65 strange coins. and armor should be way higher than 13. more like 40 or 50. this way not everyone can afford xur from week to week if only way of guaranteed strange coins is weeklies. and weeklies should be 12 coins per weekly
-
No it doesn't it causes players to have more playtime

Modificato da El_Ronan: 8/16/2015 11:41:28 PMLook, destiny is not promoting diversity whatsoever. All it gives you is the opportunity to differ in load out and one piece of exotic armor. You see, this is crap because destiny is supposed to be an mmorpg but it only borrows cheap ass tactics from them. Back in my younger days I used to play a mmorpg and the badies differed from each other not only through their armor and weapons but also stats (in destiny perks) they had unique numbers through many tries. Why cant destiny have tht? I don't want a gjallahorn, I want a hunger of crota with something similar like wolfpack rounds. You know, just like you can reforge certain weapons thn why cant ordinary shit be reforged too to my liking. Destiny puts too many limits on us. You can't feel like a badass because the person whom you're looking down upon may get half of your arsenal in jusf a few weeks with the rng. I could go on but my point is tht as long as there is no variety, ppl sooner or later will get tht piece of weaponry thts so valued. The circle always grows bigger.

8 RisposteExotic means better not more rare, learn the difference.
-
My opinion is that exotics should all be from Thorn-level difficulty quest chains, which themselves could be purchasable for 25 strange coins for example. Raids should only drop raid gear and mats.
-
4 RisposteMy problem isn't with your suggestion or what you'd like to happen, but with your subject. Way too many "If X doesn't change, get removed, get added, etc. then Destiny is dead" threads.
