Bungie lied again
Dont care that xur sold gally, however bungie said it was being nerfed because people were excluded from activities because they didnt have a gally, think this is another in a long list of whoppers
Edit: maybe my point wasnt clear. What i am saying is bungie said they were nerfing gally since it had become a requirement . If everyone has gally it will no longer be a requirement their reasoning now makes no sense.
I do hope those that just got it enjoy using it. I am glad xur sold it. I am just tired of bungie not being straight with us.
Guess i shouldnt have been hard on comminity. First responders said it was sold because of rng. I couldnt believe people really thought that. Bungie had reasons to nerf and sell gally i just wished they would stop lying

If indeed xur is pure rng then i am wrong . It seems bungie said it was. Maybe i was wrong. However one of the Main reasons they gave for Nerf was invalid.

It's getting nerfed because that's the only weapon use for end game activities, bungee wants us to use a variety of different weapons. Read a book.

They probably thought well hey we are nerfing it and there will be better weapons so why not everyone who hasn't got it have some fun. It's no biggy and the gally is no different from every other weapon that hits the spotlight for one reason or another. People moan, so they change it. I'm not sure what you think they have lied about though.

It's based on statistics that's it. Gally was making the content run time a bit short for there liking. Thorn was being used to much.

If you saw the interview with Deej, you would know that they are nerfing it because they don't want a straight answer on how to defeat a boss (so more variety).

Because even though most of us guardians now have a gjally, the people who will pick up the game with The Taken King won't have it and may be as unlucky as some of us were. As well as the people who were unable to be on this weekend. The fact is no weapon should be as powerful as the gjally is. It just ruins the fun of the game by making all strikes and raids a "who can fire the most rockets" kill. Now part of that is bungies fault by making bullet sponge bosses that I hope they fix with the patch but the other half of blame goes to the people in the community who need to rely on this crutch and exclude others because they think having good luck makes them better.

Honestly I think they hand picked gally... The reason for this is because why else would people get 9 strange coins randomly in the middle of the week (when they are usually fridays) along with 3 focused lights? That's just screaming to level up your new gally...

It's being nerves cuz it's way too strong. Simple as that. Anyone who joins after this won't have nearly as good of a chance to get gally since the exotic pool is going to nearly double.

I don't think this event was random either. It's too well-timed. The coming of TTK is not far off and Destiny has lost some of its player-base. This gives some incentive to come back for the weapon that eluded many. Then there is the upcoming nerf. Allows for players to experience Gjallarhorn in all its glory before experiencing a reduction in damage. You made a great point btw. Gjallarhorn was said to be nerfed because of all the LFG requiring "maxed Gjally only" for every tiny thing. Now with the advent of it being sold a second time, it kind of negates their reasoning for the nerf. Literally everyone can have one now. It won't stop LFG posts from demanding Gjallarhorns only but now it is easily accessible to all. The real reason is probably the advent of the new weapons. Year 1 had too many good and powerful weapons that left players with a bad taste in their mouth when venturing into the HoW armory. If they nerf Year 1 gear into the ground it gives more incentive to use Year 2 gear. I really can't think of any other reasons why, weapons rebalance or no.
