I know on Xbox you can. Why not on Playstation? What is Sony's reason? This is not a rethorical question.
I could create a new ID, sure, but since you can't transfer your trophies to a new account, that's not really an option for me.

Yup, it really sucks... I made my PSN account when I was 9 and named it after my cat... 'Stakes were made.
-
1 RispondiIt has to do with how trophies and games interact with the PSN ID and how it doesn't transfer over when Sony has to change the ID. It's also a "deterrent" from griefing but they still happens. Despite that I believe if you have a Japanese PS3/4 then you have the ability to change their ID's.

They have acknowledged this is being looked at. Must be something technically stopping it. I personally didn't want an idiotic name and sat for about an hour after getting my 360; had it picked out for my ps4 beforehand though.
-
That is a -blam!-ing good question.
-
Because the trolls will harass you. Even though they can make another account and do it anyway.
-
Because play station is gay
-
The way there system is designed you cant.
-
Sony has acknowledged that it's the #1 most requested feature. I'm sure there is something that is keeping them from doing it on a technical level, and I'm sure they are trying to get around whatever is preventing them from doing it.
-
Well when Sony changes it for you, you lose all your trophies. So maybe that has something to do with it, unless Sony does that on purpose
-
The one thing I actually love the most about Xbox is that you can use spaces and change the name, I love my gt! I also love my psn ID so I would never change it I know you can create a secondary account so you can use a different game, everything you purchased with your main account is shared with the rest, however I believe you wanna link it so just nevermind about what I said
-
2 RisposteThey said it's to prevent griefing.
-
1 RispondiShould've thought harder when you made your name if you want to change it now
-
1 RispondiYou can't change your username because Sony knows what you want and made the decision for you
-
No clue. But at least it makes think a lot more about your username.
-
Modificato da Harbinger: 8/13/2015 2:25:12 AMThe thing is, they can and do change names all the time. If you make an inappropriate name, they force you to change it, although I think you do lose all your trophies. You keep all your purchases tied to the id though.
-
Because the Sony ponies are one trick ponies.
-

I feel your pain, I want to change but don't want to lose everything. (Trophies, in game items.)
