Is skipping to the end of the raid worth it?
So one of the few weapons left for me to get is blackhammer, I somehow never knew it was only on normal mode which I never did so I've only just started adding normal to my weekly routine. I've noticed, however, when I join someone with the crota CP and just do the end my rewards seem like dirt compared to my normal loot from the boss. Does the loot table rng roll "know" if you skip to the end and punish your laziness?
I've seen blackhammer drop to people doing the same thing but I'm sure I'm not being peranoid when I see myself only get energy over and over.

If you've done the raids 50 times each already then yeah. With a good team it only takes 5 minutes to do each for a chance at an exotic. I don't do the raids anymore. I have every piece of raid gear except Black Hammer, Praetorian Foil, and Corrective Measure. And the only non PoE exotic I need is 4th Horseman. No Nightfalls or raids for me till TTK.

1 RispondiEh, I guess. Deathsinger would be worth doing if you have a competent team, just for another stab at an exotic. The rest of the raid isn't too difficult, but if you're only looking for Black Hammer and nothing else, it makes sense.

You get a chance of two exotic drops. Death singer and Crota cp. but the fang and word of Crota drop on hard at Crota cp and hunger drops on normal.

2 RisposteI skip right to hard crota cp if I can find a group easy enough, I just need a crux. Still trying after weeks and weeks of attempts on all characters and still no crux. Still don't think it has anything to do with not doing the whole raid though.

Dont feel guilty about cutting bits out you've done 100s of times.

1 RispondiI think if you're going to do it you might as well do the whole thing. Crota is so short and easy why the heck not. Plus if you're an above average player you could be doing a lot of people a favor by helping other players through it.

4 RisposteIn Crota raid the best way to get what you want is to put in your inventory every other crota gear you have received to boost chances of the missing item to appear. Skipping straight to crota works just fine

2 RisposteIn a month black hammer will be vaulted by almost everyone. They are stripping out the "white nail" perk which magically refills your mag with free ammo if you get three precision hits. They are replacing this with what I am calling the "rusty nail" perk which takes ammo from your reserve to fill the magazine. Considerably less useful....

I had someone drop in while we were just killing crota and his orb got the crux while everyone else got nothing. So no, it doesn't know anything.

Sure why not just do the final checkpoint if you've already done the entire raid numerous times before. I do this for VoG hard atheon checkpoint purely because the Vex is the only exotic im missing. Of course i dont mind doing the whole thing its still good fun, but can be quite time consuming if the team has issues or lack of experience. But the whole crota raid can be done in 20 minutes, and for most parts can be done solo. but your loot wont be affected if you skip bits lol stop being paranoid!

I got my Black Hammer on Normal after killing Crota for the 1st time waaaaay back when. It was my first Crota Weapon to drop.

3 RisposteJust don't be one of the checkpoint leeches on lfg. I'm not saying you are, but there are so many kids that just play boss checkpoints and have never actually learned how to play the game. Please don't become one of them. If you know the raid then no problem grabbing a cp for crota normal.

5 RisposteIt's all RNG, so nope. Normal gives less rewards than hard because hard gives you normal + hard rewards in one go.

All rng, when you join makes no difference at all, I've seen someone join literally ten seconds before Atheon died and get a ghorn (lol) I wouldn't worry too much about getting it though, since all year one weapons will be made obsolete with ttk.
