How can it succeed? A lot of players are now expecting it to be Destiny 2 rather than another DLC.
It's gonna come crashing down on their heads.
Most of TTK is reskinned material we have already played. Like HOW was, but bigger. The biggest new element apart from gear is the dreadnaught. Almost all the enemies, areas etc are already in the game but reused. The entire "storyline" for TTK was based on reusing existing game elements, enemies.
I'm fine with that for a DLC, but between the price and all the talk of "year 2" and how big this game is,
I can't help but think it could go disastrously wrong for Bungie after a couple of weeks of release.

I have a reserved opinion right now. I've been playing World of Warcraft this past week (again, I find myself going back to PC from console.) And, with that being said WoW is the epitome of "open world" it is expansive, seamless, it absolutely, utterly makes the Destiny world dwarf-like. You can pick up the expansions, all of them, minus the newest one for a WHOPPING £10, and you get a free months subscription. Blizzard are in fact involved in the Destiny franchise so don't pull the off topic card. They bring NEW content with EVERY SINGLE DLC. And provide true value for money, thousands of hours of great content. Extremely balanced, fun PVP, end game content that is challenging even at the top-end of gear levels. Before you slap this post on a billboard, give me a couple seconds of your attention. WHERE ON EARTH ARE BLIZZARD WHEN IT COMES TO DESTINY. I can literally picture the CEO of Blizzard on the phone is his office. "So we've given Bungie the concept of how an MMO works." "What's next?" "Well...from what we've seen of the ingame footage they've butchered the concept with ridiculous loading times, bad servers that only allow 1-16 players in a lobby, horde wave after horde wave, bullet sponges with simple mechanics, and over hyped their game with lies & cinematic tactics. I'm done, I'll take my cut and get my trademark off this brand."

2 Risposteya the fact they reskin every new enemy since day one is a pretty easy way to tell they aren't really trying
-
Agreed, especially the guns.
-
5 RisposteThey're basically redoing the entire first year of the game, and I'm not talking about just gear. They're reordering story missions (example given, The OG Sword of Crota mission is now part of Eris' quest line). They're streamlining marks and class materials. Streamlining the level up process. They're integrating lore into the game, not just into the grimoire. More obvious paths for specific rewards. Basically, it sounds like a massive overhaul and improvement to the game. Even if we blow through the story missions and all the end game activity, there's still going to be more to do with a more bearable level of grinding. On paper, at least, it sounds like a huge step forward for the game. If it goes off well, I could finally whole-heartedly recommend Destiny to friends who quit within the first month.

5 RisposteThe only exciting part is the Raid which is like a solid $15 if I put a price tag on it.
-
2 RisposteDear (Captain no brain) it hasnt come out yet, go away
-
6 RisposteYea. I agree. I preordered it, and I think a lot of ppl are going to be disappointed. Not because TTK will suck, but because ppl are expecting as much content as vanilla destiny.

16 RisposteModificato da Mr Krabs, Kell of Tax Evas: 8/7/2015 3:05:56 PMNew bosses New weapons New armor Xp based leveling system Redoing the way old missions work into the game so they blend with the dlcs New race (yes, reskinned, but basically all new) Amazing cutscenes Awesome quests 3 parts of a story. 8 long missions, then quests and strikes and raid, then the Taken War Ghost shells Friggin swords as heavies (I think) 30 new exotics An actual story New Emotes Great voice work VoG mission Biggest raid ever 3 new game modes 8 new crucible maps New entire planet sized area filled with loot and secrets Updated balanced crucible More balanced loot system 4 new strikes 3 fun re-born strikes Nolanbot Court of Oryx No returning all the way back to the tower to turn in bounties Faction allegiance Reindeer warlocks AN ACTUAL STORY New subclasses New subclasses have story/quest mission with cinematic and voice work Old subclasses have mission with voice work In game lore They are actually listening to us and fixing the game. Edit: I'm just telling you what has already (mostly) been confirmed. Edit 2: I don't understand why everyone is mad at this DLC. This used to be what you wanted. They are listening to us and finally giving us what we have asked for, do you not like this? Stop complaining, yes? Or death...
-
Yes exactly. The only new area is Dreadnought - they just confirmed that in a gamescom interview. Yes you can patrol it, and it has a raid and some story missions and strikes, but it's still the only new area. Can't believe the price they're asking for it. UK price is about $62 dollars. No chance Bungie.

Dude all I see is it's being underhyping
-
well, maybe for some. as for me. I'm not hyped. looking forward to? yes but hyped? nope. I take it as is. no point setting expectations that might be far to high, no point getting worked up. I'll watch the streams, I'll check on info. I have my collectors edition payed off in full So I already know I will have it. will it flop or will it go? meh time will tell.
-
I like all the dlc. But I feel they are pushing it too fast.
-
Meh, deal with it like this: Lower your expectations, expect some new content, some changes to how the game works and plays overall ... Then be amazed that your expectations were met and surpassed for only $40.
-
This is exactly how it will go, I can't wait! lol
-
2 RisposteThis game is 20 dollars cheaper than buying a new game. And I'm super excited about. I'm not asking you to be, you can play something else or just wait to see how it goes. That's fine. Just letting you now there are people who are excited about the game and don't think the hype is unwarranted.
-
2 Risposteits normal they put new stuff in old area's. Would you rather not go to any of the existing area's anymore?
-
2 RisposteSome may be over speculating what is available, but in turn, you are doing lots of speculation as well as to what is recycled/reused, etc. we won't really know until it comes out
-
The big question I can see coming out is 1 week later "where is the rest of the content". Mind you it isnt even released but going off my last dlcs I can safely say I asked where the rest of the content was. I havent preordered so I hope nobody asks that dreaded question 2 weeks after release or as you said, it will come down on thier heads
-
3 RisposteWhat is reskinned exactly? From what I've been seeing, there's new weapons, new armor. there are still captains, Knights, psions, etc. except they react differently and have different attacks so you have to combat them differently. There are new classes and the only thing recycled are 2/3 grenades per class. Plus thee are new pvp modes and maps so in case you get tired of a new raid and enemies, you can fight guardians with new abilities and supers on new maps (I'm sure there's more new stuff that I missed) While I'm not seeing it as a sequel to destiny, I am excited about this dlc/expansion because I'm sure there will be more to do than HoW or TDB.

Modificato da FearingDeath: 8/7/2015 1:27:37 PMYou think destiny cares if they over hype their product? 24hours after ttk is released they will be laughing, throwing all the money at their screens.
