Can we stop judging people by their grimoire please? I have been BOOTED from a Trials group because my Grimoire is 2600 even though both of the people in my fireteam actually had negative KDs. It's ridiculous.
Grimoire is not an indication of skill, at least definitely not in PvP. Grimoire is mostly obtained through Ghost hunting and grinding kills in PvE against different enemies with different weapon types. I do honor the achievement of any Guardian who has received max Grimoire and I do respect the effort and time they have put into the game, but I will not for even a second judge their skill by that number. Yes, they are technically more experienced than I am and more well versed in the game in an overall sense, but that doesn't mean that they should necessarily be taking the Relic in our VoG even if the 2000 Grimoire guy in our Fireteam is much better with it. It doesn't mean that they are better at PvP than someone else.
If you are a PvP only player, you will most likely have somewhere from 2500-3000 Grimoire. If I don't really particularly enjoy going out and killing 5000 Minotaurs or killing 2500 enemies with Fusion Rifles, that doesn't mean that I'm less skilled, especially at PvP, or that I'm a worse player.
AEGabriel, the world's NUMBER ONE Titan player and one of the top 10 overall in the entire world, has 2675 Grimoire. If he joined on you for Trials, would you boot him from your Fireteam? Hell no. And I'm not saying that I'm even close to AEGabriel's skill level in any way, but just saying that you shouldn't judge someone's worth or their skill level by how many dead Ghosts they found.
Again, I do commend anyone who has obtained maximum Grimoire and I do appreciate their effort. It's an achievement and one that you can be proud of, and praise others for. That's fantastic :)
But the moment that you start invalidating people for any activity or comment or opinion because of their Grimoire, or judging their skill purely based on that, you are being an absolute ass.
EDIT: I thought weapons contributed because they gave you cards. NVM, gonna take that out. Sorry for the misinformation.
EDIT 2: As for my Trials KD for all you people who have a stats-fetish: KD in Trials is a very poor indication. Trials isn't about KD, it's about winning. Because of lack of respawns, KD is a very skewed stat in comparison to other playlists, hence why most players have a lower KD for Trials than other playlists. I think a DTR True Skill ranking of 23 is decent considering I've only played 280 matches of Trials. 317 Combat Rating I would also say is pretty decent.
Even if you still think I suck, blah blah blah: if I win my games I don't really care, and even if my KD is ass, that doesn't invalidate my point. Don't be judgmental just because you want to boost your own ego.

It don't matter, only to some at least. Like the best one say skill is skill and there's times when you have good days and bad.

My grimoire is over 3k and I could care less what yours is. I only care if u r a nice player and if u r new admit it and listen to instruction.
-
I combine people's grimoire, kd, pvp kills, and win % to decide if they are good or not.

I couldn't agree more, and never gate anyone based on Grimoire score in any Fireteam that I form.

2 RisposteModificato da Vertycal: 8/5/2015 1:28:41 AMGrimoire involves a lot of PVP, including flawless trials, ghosts are a minimal part of it. I understand your point, and can safely say that it is unlikely that a true Grimoire hunter, especially a max Grimoire player has given you problems about it, we understand what Grimoire entails, rest assured that most Grimoire hunters, especially max Grimoire players are very nice and helpful. Your experiences do not reflect that of the general community of Grimoire hunters, we are not elitists, but rather geared toward the community. Is it not just player that have lots of time on their hands, if I didn't work and have stuff to do I'd max mine out, we could debate about it all day I suppose lol.
-
Your trials kd should be a higher kd if you have any skill, just saying I agree with most of your other points though
-
1 RispondiGrimoire is not an indication of skill HOWEVER it is an indication of experience When I'm looking for a trials team I say 1.3 + kd in trials and 3000+ grimoire so I get the best of both worlds.

Anyone who gives any crap about k/d or grimoire are scrubs with no life but Destiny. Feel sad for them.
