Just saw a post about Jesus and most of the responses looked like they came from non believers. I'm interested in finding out how much of the community sides with logic. I also want to know your personal reason for not identifying with any religion. I personally gave up my beliefs in Christianity 3 years ago and I'm happy that I did.
(Please do not reply trying to tell me I will spend all of eternity in hell unless you want me to laugh at you hysterically.)

1 RispondiEverybody in the community is an Agnostic, whether they like it or not. Agnostic Theist, Agnostic Atheist, Agnostic Deist, Agnostic whatever. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar.

Hobbies include reading conservative/republican threads because comedy is hard to come by these days...

Atheist

3 RisposteIt's irrelevant to me, why bother trying so hard to figure were we first started instead of putting that intensity to making a better future and coming together. Who knows if we do that, well we might just stumble upon our origins.

I'm agnostic. I started off as a Christian with my mom until I was 13. Then I started thinking about it and have decided that I don't really believe in a god or "all powerful being". I might end up as a Buddhist like my dad.
-
I never have had anything to do with religion. My dad is catholic and my mum was christian but they didn't exactly follow their religions. It's just what they put down if asked. Schools talked about it when I was a kid but it sounded like horse shit. It's never been something i've had any interest in.

I just looked at what the sources said. Scientific proof of evolution as well as carbon dating things 4000+ years back, or a book saying nope to this. My choice is clear.

9 RisposteNot a Christian anymore because Science. I realized all the "holes" that used to be filled with "God did it" actually had real reasons. I began to recognize the amount of holes were decreasing and with it the need for God as an explanation.

I'm actually a terrorist for squirrels and stuff F up their trees and shite for not believing in science
-
2 RisposteFor me, its simple. Id rather die believing in a god and heaven, but find out its not real. Rather than, not believing in god or heaven/hell, only to find out it was real

Should've made a poll

To define atheism and agnosticism as logic itself is entirely pretentious, presumptions, and provocative. I'm an atheist, however to say someone is illogical for the belief in a faith isn't logically contingent itself.

Modificato da Tiber of Astora: 7/31/2015 9:51:33 PM
I'm interested in finding out how much of the community sides with logic.
Logic-the quality of being justifiable by reason. I find a belief in God reasonable by proof of my personal experience. I find my beliefs logical just as you do yours.
I personally gave up my beliefs in Christianity 3 years ago and I'm happy that I did.
Sorry to hear that. Edit:Being less hostile.

5 Risposte
...live life to the fullest...life is too short to worry about such things...i need proof; I can't just have faith... We've all felt these things (or something similar) before; and it is normal as human beings to question things. When it comes down to it, if we live with this attitude and there is a God with a plan for us after our human lives, then we have failed miserably and unfortunately there won't be a second chance at being in a, as my pastor puts it, "flesh suit". But what if we live the life of a God-fearing person and do His will but end up finding out that there is nothing after earth life? The reality is our names will probably only last about two generations after we die, through our kids and our grandkids. If we live our fleshly preferred life and there is a heaven, we are doomed for whatever punishment our sins deserve. And if we live life according to God's plan and there isn't an afterlife reward, we have lost nothing — the need to "enjoy" life our way is hollow because once we die we won't remember nor will the generations to come.
6 RisposteEhh. I just don't get people who think science is the way to go. It's no more believable than religion. They believe what scientists say about this universe yet they can't believe what people recorded in a book called the Bible many years ago. Just saying. Don't argue me because while you may be able to track this universe back and back, they still can't explain why existence of this universe is here:
