Banning the cheaters...
That's all fine and dandy, you want there to be a fair game for everyone, but who here has beaten Crota without cheating at the bridge?
I'll be honest, I've cheated every time just to collect the rewards, and I'll do it again in a heartbeat. I've also cheated, by carrying people through Nightfalls. I usually solo 95% of the Nightfalls, then get on destiny lfg only to invite two people who hasn't done it yet. Usually it's just a rocket from my Gjallarhorn and the enemy is dead. No, not even the wolf pack rounds, only the rocket and the enemy is dead. But those two I've invited still received exotics or strange coins.
If you ban one set of people, ban them all.
They won't though, because they need the money.

Edit: it's weird how some of you can justify that one form of cheating is okay(cheesing) because Bungie hasn't done anything about it, but are willing to crucify another group of people because their cheating takes away from their experience or affect someone else negatively. As hard as it is finding a raid group if you don't have the right weapons, some people out there do actually want to do the raids legit, but they don't speak out because they don't want to be that person. Isn't that person who refuses to speak out being cheated?

6 RisposteCarrying people in nightfalls is not cheating, you made the choice to carry someone who is either under leveled or under skilled for the strike. Lag switching and MTU manipulation is cheating from an outside source. Cheesing is just using game mechanics to your advantage

Thing is, the larger majority that actually cares about which one? PVP. I know a hell lot of people who abuse the bugs and whatnot for PVE, but from what I remember, no one cares. If by any chance someone actually does, they leave and start over, not a big deal. PVP on the other hand, is a larger audience of cheaters that pretty much prevents people from getting to the lighthouse on ToO, and infuriates people who do IB. I mean, what can you actually do? The probability has shown that as many games as people try, it is very likely to hinder you from doing things like bounties, ranking up IB, lighthouse, etc. That's why.

Oh dear... When someone cheeses, for instance, the bridge at crota it is not affecting anyone else in the game (specially if you are soloing it) while when you cheat in a PvP game you are negatively affecting the opposite team (which btw are real people). If they want to cheese on a PvE event, let them, who cares. I am surprised by the way you say it "who here hasnt beaten crota without cheesing at the bridge" I mean, are there really that many people who cannot do the bridge? Anyway thats not the point, you want to cheese the bridge, do it, dont care, you want to cheat on a PvP game that I am playing as well then we will have a problem. If you can't see the difference then thats the problem man. Myself I dont need to cheese to complete any raid or PoE and I am happy with that accomplishment. As many here like me.

You cheese the bridge, ok. Do you then manipulate your network upload to control the outcome of a match? Both can be stopped. Bungie tried patching the raids. Some worked, some didnt. Templar cheese anyone?????? Now they are trying to fix pvp by dusting off the ol' banhammer. We'll see what works and what wont soon

17 RisposteCheating and cheesing are totally different, hence why they have different names for one another. Think of it as cheesing a test (being allowed to have an open book with you), as opposed to having an answer sheet (cheating on the test). Class dismissed.

14 RisposteYou're trying to expose some double-standard that just isn't there. First of all, the words "cheesing" and "cheating" tend to be separate concepts to the majority of gamers. Finding a way to utilize in-game in mechanics (despite being unintended) to make an encounter easier against computers is rarely regarded as "cheating". Cheating usually entails an external factor. Using a cellphone to calculate moves in the bathroom during a chess tournament is cheating. Installing software on your computer that enables you to see through walls in a FPS is cheating. Cheesing entails internal factors. Using a full team of Defenders that chain Blessings of Light and all have Gjallyhorns against a boss might be considered cheesing. Climbing to a really high spot where AI can't shoot you or reach you as easily is cheesing. There is a difference between using in-game mechanics to gain an advantage in PVE and manipulating your network in order to be invulnerable in a competitive scenario.

12 RisposteThere is a difference between finding a way to skip a portion of a raid and cheating in multiplayer and screwing over other teams. And I'm not sure why you think what you do in nightfalls is cheating. This post is very stupid.

2 RisposteAny outside manipulation that gives players a unfair advantage over other players should result in a ban. If you are wasting other players time by cheating, and giving them a loss on their card after they've gone 8-0 because you're in God mode, you've set yourself up for a inevitable ban. It's not hard to understand, and accept unless you yourself are cheating.
