Blink shotgun is ridiculous

All you hear in Iron Banner is the sound of blink on your team and the other. Paired with a shotgun, there is no consistent counter to it. Now I'm okay with blink, just use it like how it was designed to be used. Defensively, not with a shotgun blinking everyone its cool down is done. So frustrating!

  • Cut the shotgun range (distance for one shot kill) in half. Then make blink have a 5 second cool down so noobs can't just blink all over the map and never take any damage.

  • Everything has bigger purpose than the attentional use. You should just get better at countering. Tip# if they blink towards you, run towards them, slide, turn around and kill them. Works most of the time for me. Have max camera speed on as well

    The counter to it....is your own mobility. Trying to stand your ground and fight against a blink-shotgunner is suicide. Whenever someone blinks, they go momentarily blind when they teleport. Blink-shotgunning works for two reasons. Players like yourself instinctively try to stand their ground and fight against it. Secondly, the Blinker commits to attacking the spot you're standing on. So when he comes out of his blink, he knows EXACTLY where to look for you, and has a *basic* idea of where he's going to teleport to. You---as the intended victim----have little to no idea where he's going to reappear. That split-second advantage in target-acquisition is what gets you killed. The counter to ANY shotgun rusher----but especially blink-rushers----IS TO NOT BE IN THAT SPOT WHEN THE RUSHER GETS INTO SHOTGUN RANGE. YOU MOVE. Backpedal, Jump away. Blink away. Hell, CHARGE the rusher, if that's your only option. Just don't be IN that spot when he comes out of the teleport. If you aren't, then HE has to look around to find you...just like you're looking around to find him. This gives you a chance to either escape (if the odds are still stacked against you0 or even turn the tables on the rusher. This is true of ALL rush tactics in this game. NEVER stand your ground and fire if someone's charging at you. Not unless you have an OVERWHELMING firepower advantage (like heavy ammo). Because the only time a decent player in this game will try to bum-rush you is when he planning something that will give him an overwhelming advantage when he gets into weapon range. IOW. He's going to: 1. Super you. 2. Slide-shotgun you 3. Blink-shotgun you. So your first instinct should be when every you're being bum-rushed, is to start putting fire on the guy doing it....and doing whatver you can to keep him from closing the distance. I call the ability to do this "distance control"...and it is one of the most important skills to learn in this game, if you want to fight at some OTHER range than close-quarters. Because it is your most effective weapon against shotgun rushers, and other people trying to fight at close quarters.
