The reason for the Ice Breaker nerf is just sad.

PvE was totally fine in a "balanced" sort of way besides the fact that Gjallarhorn dominated in most situations... but nerfing the Ice Breaker? Why? I feel like Bungie went to far with balancing and should not of touched PvE. PvP on the other hand had it coming and is going to be much better now. The new 8 second wait for ammo in the Ice Breaker to respawn was not at all needed.

  • The whole point of a sniper rifle is to kill things from a spot they can't kill you. Bungie ( a company I have loved since Halo) says this "relaxed" play style is bad for a regenerative gun. They never nerfed the sniper or beam rifle in Halo. And I know I always stayed back with those if I could. I would say an eight second wait for one round to regenerate vs. five seconds is to much.

    • Honestly, I think it needed the nerf only because I ran games with people who tried to use it as their main.

        They're probably doing it because everyone does that stupid top strat on the vault of glass for oracles. There's no reason to do that strat anymore when everyone can easily hit level 34.

        • I was thinking the same thing on shotguns. They were giving criticism on us using them they way they would be expected too. Maybe an issue in pvp but not sure about the PvE changes.

        • I hope you all realize and remember the following: Bungie nerf'd Valus and Skolas claiming their data showed we weren't completing those missions for they took too long. The 2.0 nerf premise is that the guns are too effective, kill too quickly and need to be tempered (increase mission duration). Do you see the contradiction clearer now? The nerf is and never was about OP weapons. It was always about buying TTK to restore your inventory of OP guns. The nerf coincides with the TTK release, I think not. It was planned for that release so your guns would immediately be less effective and the TTK guns more attractive. It is and always about your $$$...

            If somebody wants to sit at the back of the map and snipe, it will just take a little longer. I'm not sure what this accomplished.

              • Increasing the time between shot recharges doesn't make people want to leave the corner of the map, it makes them want to stay there longer.

              • Fate bringer black hammer and ghorn dominate pve lol. There's no need to use any other weapons unless you switch the bh to a full auto shotty for confluxes or poe. Also i think they nerfed the icebreaker because people still stay up top in vog for oracles and templar

                  • sadly allot of people have completely missed the point of this update. Some have noticed, but most either are clueless or don't care. Bungie is artificially extending this game. They are trying to keep people here and playing, but when things are so easily done in a short time people get bored and stop playing and when people are bored of a game that makes other games more interesting. To be honest the game itself is a good game, but it's the management of this game that is bad. Also not having people to play with on a constant basis and seeing people you do know not logging in and playing other games make it even worse.

                    • I agree, however I laughed at their reasoning for the ghorn nerf. I personally expected the nerf and don't mind it, but LFG? Really? Does that mean 34s with max sub classes will get nerfed too? Just hilarious

                    • I never thought ice breaker was overpowered enough that it needed a regen nerf. I don't understand their thinking with that gun. Its like they want us to hate it before ttk gets here so we grind and grind and grind for the next "ice breaker"....

                            I' d bet money the cheesy way to beat ttks raid involves using tons of sniper rifle ammo from a safe spot. That's what they were trying to avoid, rather than fix the actual raid. Black hammer and Ice breaker have never been complained about by anyone.

                          • mm, why bother with Icebreaker when I could just use the shoot to loot perk and a decent sniper with the surplus perk. Snipe all day, same Icebreaker playstyle, only it doesn't waste so much time, waiting. And on the topic of snipers, extra damage to shanks!? I expect a giant Shank boss in a future strike or raid, otherwise what is the actual point?
