Anyone else confused on Ice Breaker nerf?
No one complained about Ice Breaker being too powerful. You lose your shots when you die. This is one nerf that was unnecessary.
Edit: I am surprised that this post has so many replies. To further this post, talk about weapon changes you like or don't like.

The Ice breaker was more of a problem for them really rather than it being OP in pvp or pve. They didn't like that players could sit back and do things like Nightfalls with just the Icebreaker, you still can, and people still will, but they're hoping we'll just use something else and play the way they want it to be played. When people still use Icebreaker in pve, expect to see another 3 seconds added on. They don't like that gun, they want us to spend the maximum amount on time on as little content as possible stretching the game out. My suggestion is use a better sniper rifle with the surplus perk on it, and then another gun like a scout rifle with the shoot to loot perk. Same effect as Icebreaker, non of the waiting around.

I think we should keep our shots when we die now since it will take forever for our shots to regen

It wouldn't be so bad if you could pick up a special ammo pack to refill the mag. That way it would sort of stop you camping in a corner out the way but if you wanted to use it as a normal sniper you could, now it's pretty much useless.

Me it doesn't mess up ice breaker it's just weird and misplaced nobody knew they were gonna nerf the guns regeneration of ammo?

It was an unnecessary nerf, but it won't ruin the gun.

There is no point in using any way now because you can just get your team to carry you through any that involves a ice breaker anyway because most likely one of you will have a ghorn !!!

4 RisposteThe nerf is dumb. A normal sniper will give you more ammo over time by the use of special ammo synt and the fact that u can pick up ammo. Ice breaker has no use now. (Not that i used it anyway)

People spend too much time out of action waiting for it to recharge... So we'll increase the time to make them wait even longer. The logic was to discourage players from using it all the time, but there are no better alternatives so players are just going to wait longer. Buffs > Nerfs

3 RisposteHow hard is it to understand, someone doesn't have to complain for something to happen, they looked at their statistics and saw that during every strike, raid and nightfall that Gjallarhorn/Black hammer/icebreaker were ALWAYS equipped, nobody was using any other weapons, so they decided to make other weapons an actual option by nerfing these Pve weapons

They need to be more specific and more detailed as to why they are making certain changes. We want more data. I dig the little line graphs but that's just not enough

I think if it could hold a few more rounds for the longer charge rate that would be fine personally I also thought it was a pve weapon but since the special ammo nerf it's becoming more popular so they should have increased the amount of sniper ammo received in the crucible from the boxes

The problem with the Ice Breaker nerf is that ammo regen will be so slow you can get more bullets by using a LDR and popping a synth. You read that right. In 5 minutes time an Ice Breaker will have regenerated less ammo than you can get by spawning with any high impact rifle, emptying the clip, and then using a synth. If they are going to nerf the regen rate you need to: A) Spawn with a full clip B) Regen ammo while dead C) It needs to hold 20-25 round OR use special ammo pick-ups D) Benefit from special ammo synth
