Here's another tinfoil hat theory for you.
What if Joe Statens Destiny 1.0 really was not meant to be sold to us in all these expansions and we weren't meant to get the Thunderlords, Icebreakers and Gjallarhorns week one.
What if when they decided to chop up the game and sell us parts as dlc, they put all those weapons into vanilla because they didn't have any others ready to use in place at that point and figured they'd make more for the "expansions". Only the problem was that those weapons they thought they would just replace were supposed to be absolute Destiny 1.0 endgame and were so powerful that they ended up being breaking the balance of the entire game?

Modificato da Octopus: 7/18/2015 2:02:16 PMI think one problem for bungie was that the only reason for many many players, gally etc, isn't too rare anymore, as too many already have it and therefor would jump off the destiny train, so that they made them useless, implementing new ones, better ones, to give players a new reason to do the same crap they already did a hell of time, over and over and over and over again, running the same crappy cosmodrom, venus etc, now for the new stuff...idk, but if so, a crappy way to keep players in game...although don't care, as me, won't buy TTK, as it's already nothing i look forward too, but more on the releases that will come at this time...and i don't mean BO3, as destiny was the game to escape the crap activegreedsvision did on there...too dumb i used another activi game to escape lol...my only reason i still play destiny is that there's simply nothing else out there...but that's more a ps4 problem, rather than a destiny one...but as this will change with FO4 and a few other nice games, the solution is already near ,)

As I mentioned in another post, I know now that this game is a giant hamster wheel lol Sometimes it's fun to run in place for a bit Sometimes it's not But now I know bungies true colors, I no longer expect an epic journey through a mythological Sci fi story game experience I now expect cheesy infomercial tactics, endless grind, and infinite shiny bobbles for my hamster wheel. Now that I'm clear on bungies intentions and business practices, I can take it or leave it with minimal emotional investment Shame really, I was hoping for skyrim in space :-) Hopefully I can get a phogoth bobble head for my hamster wheel soon!

I think the real problem is that Activision's business model is to pump out new games each year, like with Call of Duty. And they want Destiny to fall in line with this process. But the sheer scope of the original game worked on by Joe was most likely one of those deals where its not something you can just do that, like Destiny 1.0 consisted of the vanilla, Dark Below and House of Wolves and most likely some content that is still to be released that was already created, and is most likely going to show up in TTK like Mars' moon, Phobos. Activision was probably against this and didn't agree with how overly committed Joe, Marty and possibly others at Bungie were to this new game, as we already know from the Halo series that they really go all out. So when Joe found out that the executive decision was to cut the game and butcher his masterpiece to transform it into the endless grind fest that we have today, that was likely his final straw and he decided to quit rather than have his name attached to the title. And we already know they flatout fired Marty, who was likely also disagreeing with Activision's directives and hence why they tried to hijack his stocks and keep him out of board meetings.

2 RisposteI'm wondering how much will be available to those that do not purchase TTK in terms of free content. With TDB and HOW there was an amount of gear/weapons available to those that just stuck with Vanilla and didn't purchase the "expansions".

After all the hell we gave them after the dark below's (non)upgrade system I would love to see how they try to sell the bricking of every year one weapon we grinded hundreds of hours for.

1 RispondiYeah, they'll show you the new weapons, then place them all on the nerf list. One more example of Bungievision squatting over the player base and taking a huge steaming sh!t on players with a nice round of tea bagging to show them how little they value them. Bungievision you've only really managed to accomplish one thing in the last year. You shredded your reputation while distancing yourself even further from your one major accomplishment, building Halo.
