I half expected this game to have an offline component from the beggining. The excuses they said about the game needing to be online is horse shit. The main story does nothing that requires online unless you are playing coop with someone and the fact that you can see other guardians phasing in and out of your instance is neat but such a terrible excuse. (In fact his was done in demon souls/dark souls years ago and it all was perfectly playable offline, just without the random players doing their own thing around you) Also consider that given the fact that the crucible is so very bare bones, entirely unrelated to PVE and only has peer to peer networking its crap that the main game needs always online. All bungie did was make some really annoying DRM scheme to ensure they could -blam!- around with people's game whenever they wanted. The only plus to having always online requirement is the fact that you can't cheat with your character's inventory like you can with local saved characters. (ON PS3 & X360) and that is shaky as hell since people just use lagswitches and make the point moot.

I wish the whole story was available.

Since I thought it was going to be a shooter RPG I figured a lot of it was offline with online elements put in.

The whole game and every game.

Especially when they are down (maintenance;etc).

I say no, if only for the fact that the games that are available to play offline (Borderlands and Diablo come to mind most strongly) have a lot of modded gear. Having everything stay server side limits cheating in a way that an offline component never could.

How do you play on the road? I know Vita has remote play, butt hat is only feature I am aware of...

Maybe they could make some kinda card playing game from the Grimoire?
