Smart post. But I don't think scouts need a buff so much as pulses and exotic HCs and shotguns need a nerf. I also don't think they will ever be that popular just for the simple fact you need to know the approach angles on a map to use them whereas with every other primary you can just kind of run in and spray bullets.

  • I'd say Pulse rifles are fine. They only really are good if you're a devotee of them, and get the hang of either rapid firing them or mastering the recoil to land full-burst head shots.

    I disagree. They are pretty easy to use. No one uses them because the exotic HC meta is slightly better. But two burst pulses are still way under the TTK of an autorifle or scout or legendary handcannon. Not to mention headseeker makes landing headshots not as important and with hidden hand and near max stability, the new pulses have an even easier time.

  • Honestly, I find Autos to have a slight edge, in that they can sweep fire. You miss a few, just turn and hold fire. Pulse Rifles, you miss a burst and you might be toast. Honestly, the only tweaks that ought to be done are rebalances to the Exotic HCs and a buff to Autos. Possibly a little retooling on some of the Scouts as well.

    Would be quite difficult to nerf range on those weapons though. Most Destiny maps are truly quite small, and "cross-map" shots on most maps are really only about 50-70m. It'd be a tad bit ridiculous if those guns could not even hit a target at 50m.

    I am not talking range nerfs (except for the Last Word). They need TTK nerfs. 2 burst pulses need to be more like 2.33 burst pulses to bring their TTK into the same range as other weapons. I don't have a lot of trouble destroying people with MIDA but if Thorn's Rof were reduced and the poison only applied to two random bullets in the mag or something, it would be a lot more even fight. Currently, the main problem is you need to be highly skilled to kill with scouts against the pulse exotic HC meta. If the skill cap on these other weapons are increased, scouts will become more popular.

    I agree with nerfing exotic handcannons. No questions there. I too, also secretly believe that Pulse Rifles need a slight nerf. I'm pretty sure I'd get burned at the stake for making a thread about it though. Or a nerf thread about anything really.
