Etheric light useless after September 14?
Anyone think etheric light will be cut out of the game for The Taken King?

2 RisposteI am hoping they at least have a grandfather system in place where a guardian can take his favorite 5ish weapons in the game with him along in his quest. Then when the third year comes around, I still only get to take 5, factoring in new weapons the second year had to offer as well. Or maybe for next year's Bungie Day Triumphs you get to bring along a 6th bonus weapon as a reward. To compensate for losing them we should be able to have some sort of collection wall where we can show them off to people and compare for years to come. If someone has paid all that dough for 2, 3 years, let them keep an extra gun per year. Obviously they aren't going anywhere. Oh and nerfs or buffs never are altered on weapons we bring along. So my Fatebringer stays no matter if HCs are buffed or nerfed, better or worse. Ideally it'd be best to bring whatever we want with us the whole way, but I think the above would be fair to make us happy and keep things fresh and people chasing RNG. HoW didn't give me one gun that could compete with my old load out pre-etheric light. That's the problem there. PoE isn't too easy, even with our best load outs. It just offers no quality rewards to encourage us to do it.

I'm sure it will be in the game, but will still only ascend to 365, or light lvl 42. It will undoubtedly become obsolete as the game progresses. I just hope they don't make raid weapons obsolete, because then raids themselves would become entirely obsolete.

Will it still be usable though? I understand it wouldn't be able to upgrade gear to the "current" level, but would we still be able to ascend older gear to 34?

What if it does become obsolete by no being upgradeable and with the new story missions, gear drops that has better stats (light level) than the current gear and it peaks at a certain point like when destiny first came out and then the only way to reach max is by doing the new raid. Then in the beginning of year two say the new light level is for rank 50 and we have some forever 49s similar to the forever 29s? That would be some shit!

Well ask yourself this, are ascendant shards and energies useful with the HoW content? (I haven't fully checked so I can't be 100% certain) With that being said, etheric light will Most likely be thrown aside lol

I believe it will be a trading system, they will have the speaker able to produce new things or whatever with tht light. Like did with shard and energy

Radical idea: add ttk armor to the raids drop table. Vog has ttk helm Crota ttk gloves Poe skolas ttk chest plate New raid ttk boots Then the end game activities are relevant forever. And new level cap damn near impossible for filthy casuals like me.

I would think not, it depends on how they view the endgame. Going by their previously seen desire for you to work your way up to max level it would say yes. --------However it looks like we will have to get to a new levelcap. Which would prevent us from getting max immediately even if etheric light, newly acquired and old, maxed our stats. There's also them wanting people to be able to jump in. If that is so, then TTK gear would be at least our current max like it's been. If all etheric light does is get us to the current cap it's pointless to obtain, almost. All in all though I'm waiting to see.

Bungie has WAY too many types of currency its so -blam!-ing confusing to a new player - I have tried to explain it to 2 different newbie players and I repeat the same shit over and over and over and they still have no -blam!-ing clue what currency is for what. I even get confused when I go to the speaker and want to transfer currencies for motes of light ... lol please make currencies more user friendly its mind boggiling for new players.

Out until it's time to upgrade year 2 weapons to their max level... which will come in the 2nd DLC just like it did for year 1. Which will be pointless since everybody will then buy Destiny 2 next year. It's a never ending process.

It will be. Year two is when all the year two weapons/armor will take place of all the year one weapons/armor. Year 1 items will be irrelevant by the time TTK comes out.

10 RisposteLikely not but, no-one really believes what Bungie says anymore. HoW for eample was supposed to include NO new materials yet immediately we got etheric light. The teaser videos and playthroughs all made everyone thing that etheric light would be plentiful and we would just need to level up gear in the normal way then ascend it when we were ready...yea right!

5 Rispostei'm guessing all the guns right now will NOT be upgradable. I think there is a reason they added that "these are year one" guns stuff. Destiny is a loot grind and they are going to make you try and grind for loot.

Asumming you need it on any pre ttk gear to get it to ttk pre stats then need somethin else to upgrade it.
