For the billionth time, Thorn and The Last Word are ridiculously overpowered. Nerf them.
Do. It. Now.
It should not take this long too implement, especially given the amount of overwhelming wave of hate that has been directed at these weapons for months now.
I understand that you're busy Bungie, but rebalancing your PvP is of paramount importance to the future of Destiny.

Edit #1:
Seeing as a lot of users here are arguing that Thorn and The Last Word are not OP, but instead that I'm merely bad, please feel free to check out my KD. According to Destiny Tracker, and at the the time of this edit, I am ranked #1086 for KD in the world.
Sorry for elitist-sounding comment, but you can still be good at this game and see how blatantly overpowered Thorn and The Last Word are.
Edit #2:
Yes, I am using The Last Word on my Hunter. But no, that does not make the argument I am making in this thread invalid. Why would I limit my performances in PvP by not using the best weapons available? Out of pride? -blam!- that, I want to win - just like most of you.
Edit #3:
Dismantling the popular and rather foolish argument that there will always be an OP gun in Destiny (or even that one should always exist), by user Geoff Edwards.
"Bullshit.
The game is maths. Numbers can be balanced. TTKs, required engagement times are all measurable.
Select an optimal engagment range.
Make damage fall-off more pronounced so that it has a more important effect.
Make ranged weapons like scouts even harder to use in close combat.
Make sure RoF and Impact result in standardised TTKs across weapon classes and types .
Make weapons selection interesting. Thorns burn is interetsing - it delays recovery. Red Deaths healing is interesting. TLW's hip fire is interesting. Make these tactical choices - not the only choices.
As bungie says - there should never be one solution. All loadouts should be viable."
1 RispondiMuted for being a 12 year old whos mom buys them everything right when they want it so they expect the same from bungie.

4 RisposteIf anything thorn needs a buff
-
1 RispondiSays the player with the messenger and TLW equipped...
-
1 RispondiHonestly all that really needs to be done is: restore auto rifle's power, lower Thorn's fire rate a bit, fix Last Word's hip fire bonus from procing while aiming down sights, fix Vex Mythoclast so the fusion rifle nurfs don't affect it, & make the range stat actually matter on all weapon types.

3 RisposteTLW needs a nerf but thorn needs a damage buff

1 RispondiJust. Stop. Complaining. Already.
-
1 RispondiI think they're waiting til TTK man .....it's a real let down
-
1 RispondiModificato da GuardianPrime19: 7/14/2015 4:24:18 PMYou ask why it's taking so long... Bungie NEVER said that they WOULD nerf them. So it could (hopefully) never happen

9 Rispostenerf everything Nerf balls for supers and nerf darts for ammo
quit bitching because you keep getting killed by certain weapons
12 RisposteJust wait until September when you are able to get the Hawkmoon. You will be complaining about that one too.

"use better strategies to fight thorn, scrub." Thats the best argument isnt it? I mean I put three shots of my MIDA into that thorn prick, but god damn, this guy doesnt suck at aiming either, he gets two shots of thorn into me. My choices now are: A)run like hell and hope for the best, or take cover assuming the thorn guy wont just chase or throw a nade. B)fight, and lose or trade. if your suggestion to beat thorn includes TLW, thorn, or a grenade, you are an idiot.

6 RisposteNo. No more nerfs. Rebuff the damage auto rifles dish out to their former power. Buff scout rifle damage to be comparable to pulse rifle damage as it is now, but with greater accuracy at range. And finally, create a permanent playlist that doesn't allow exotic weapons or armor.

5 RisposteReported for spam.

5 RisposteBro, they are overpowered in experienced hands. There was the same issue with the Vex Mythoclast and Bungie finally nerfed it. Look at the vex now, it's not nearly as fun as it used to be. The reason why Thorn and The Last Word are overpowered is because when used in experienced hands, they dominate in crucible.
-
2 RisposteThorn range could definitely be tweaked. No reason a hand cannon should be able to shoot across the map like a long gun. If they fix TLW's glitch then that weapon would be fine I guess. But I'm just an average player, I struggle against these weapons. Especially since I prefer Mida for my primary.
-
2 RisposteTLW just needs to have the glitch fixed so you don't get the bonus damage if you're looking down the sights. Confine it to it's niche a bit more, the way the perks are actually described, and the problem goes away. Death incarnate up close, but not very dangerous farther out. Thorn is more problematic. I think the range is the biggest problem. It should not outrange pulse rifles or compete with scouts.
-
6 RisposteFor those that say its not overpowered... If its not then why do people complain?
-
5 RisposteOr they could just make other weapons more usable like suros (or all other auto rifles) and fusion rifles.
-
2 RisposteMaybe you haven't been paying attention. Bungie made a huge blunder by marrying/merging PVP & PVE, in that any weapon stat change affects it for both sides of the equation. There have been way too many weapons ruined for PVE already because of this blunder. The solution is for Bungie to control/limit negative weapon stat changes to PVP load out only. There's your beef, so stop with the general nerf crap and ask Bungie to fix their game.
-
4 RisposteBuff everything else, thorn is a bitch to get solo, and i did it trust me, ive had a few. Buff fusionrifles everywhere, buff autorifles insanely, buff lmgs slightly, buff ammo spawn frequency, buff ammo drop amounts, buff health slightly, buff titans immensely, we are the weakest class sadly. Still the most fun to play.

1 RispondiModificato da Bucket of Tears: 7/14/2015 4:24:27 PMThey are waiting til TTK supposedly. Problem is, Bungie waits so long to fix things that no one gives a shit about it anymore by the time they fix it or they move on to something else. It is truly pathetic how long it takes for them to fix seemingly small issues.
-
1 RispondiI think they should buff auto rifles in PvP and PvE because they are basically just slot position takers
