-Introduction (skip to the main point if u like) Okay so first of all we've all seen the many many posts on the forum asking, pleading, and screaming for the Thorn to be nerfed.. And as we all know bungie will indeed nerf it at some point. Not just the thorn but all hand cannons. If not all, what will happen is players will just move on to the next strong handcannon which will be either be the TLW or Hawkmoon. A simple range reduction should solve the problem. What we don't want to happen is for handcannons to be gutted like what was done to autorifles. With the Thorn however, i think 1 extra thing needs to be done to this unique gun -Main point Okay so most of us know, in the Destiny lore, the thorn was once Dredgen Yors old gun called the Rose. When Dredgen Yor decided to walk down the dark path that eventually changed him, it also changed his gun to what is now the Thorn. The Thorns uniqueness is its poison effect on enemies and guardians. what if that poison effect also hurt the user aswell? Think about it.. How cool would it be for every kill you got using the thorn u would also be poisoned. Only slightly, and ONLY when you got the kill on guardians, not actual enemies. The Lore explains that Yor was the only man that ever wielded the Thorn. It's a cursed weapon. Bungie if you add something like this to the Thorn while also reducing the range of hand cannons it will not only add a certain coolness, twist, and punishment for using the thorn, but it will also speak true of how dangerous this gun is in the lore. It's was never stated in the lore if it was the Thorn that changed Dredgen Yor or Dredgen Yor becoming darker that changed the Rose into the Thorn. Your thought?!
