Check his stats.
1 day of play time, one lvl 32 warlock, .6 KD in trials... No wonder he's so off base with the community, he doesn't play the game.
Edit: his only having 27 kills is trials is more an issue to me, it suggests that he hasn't played it much, which would make him I'll equipped to represent/understand the community with regards to Trials.
And a lot of people are bringing up the fact that he probably has a second account, these people are probably right (I hope).
Edit 2: NEW COMMUNITY MANAGER! Yay!
... Runs three hunters like a pleb, but he's got a solid chunk of playtime and I guess he ran the Destiny subreddit for a while. I'm excited for a new Bungie/community medium.

People keep saying that it's not his job to play the game, it's to be a community manager and write the weekly updates. Well if you actually read the weekly updates, especially back in the early days of the game, he says multiple times that he is "our voice" to the other members of the team at development meetings. It's his job to relay information about our questions and concerns to the rest of the team, and I'd feel much more comfortable with a high volume player deciding what's important and what isn't when it comes to community feedback on the forums.

69 RisposteModificato da raj: 7/11/2015 12:44:15 PMEither this forum is full of pre pubescent, whiny little girls...or these are actual men in 2015 crying like babies over a -blam!-ing video game. Holy shit America, get your shit together you plebs, so many other things to worry about, and here you are worrying about the next man business like he's your collective boyfriend, its down right pathetic. No wonder Americas the laughing stock of the rest of the world, the men would rather lift a controller than a weight and all of our warriors hide behind keyboards.

22 RisposteTo manage the community, you need to understand the community. To understand the community, you need to be a part of the community. To be a part of the community, you need to play the game.

Deej's job isn't to play the game. It's to inform us of changes and report problems and other things we want changed in the game. Being a d*** to him won't really change anything. He is a normal guy making a living. Get over yourself people it's a game!
-
I don't understand why the community manager should be a super hardcore gamer. His job is to relay feedback from the community to Bungie and to inform us of changes/events/stuff.
-
So a small amount of play time means he is inadequate for his position as a middle man between Bungie and the community? Wow. What an idiotic take.
-
4 RisposteHeaven forbid deej actually has a life
-
Yep he's still a filthy casual.

6 RisposteYou do realize deej played trials/crucible and all game types for a LONG TIMe in bungie studios. All the bungie employees love destiny and play at work.
-
Deej got the gally in just a few days play time? Lol he's the luckiest person ever haha.
-
They play test it quite often I would assume. That's his own account, count in the Bungie tests and the hours would probably be a lot higher.
-
2 Risposte27 hours doesn't even qualify one as a casual. Story missions alone take up, what, 6? So he's played end game for 20 hours. Gonna be hard for him to understand "more vault space" complaints. I like Deej but I have to agree this is lame.
-
6 RisposteThis is why: Deej at 27 hours played - *insert weekly update message thoughtfully worded* Deej at 2700 hours played - "get rekt skrub trolloloollloooll"
-
Cozmo has three hunters and his most used weapon in crucible is a shotgun. I don't know about this guy.
-
Who is the new community manager?
-
1 RispondiOhm, he prolly -blam!-s models by his poolside dude, do u think he plays video games? Its a job to him, even if he used to enjoy playing, once something becomes ur job, it's no longer fun

1 RispondiI think trials isn't a good measure of time put into game. I play destiny a decent amount. I PvP a decent amount. I don't like trials so much, so I don't play it. The reason I don't play is because the most annoying players in the crucible hover in trials.
-
I agree with deej not playing enough but that's not his job, bungie has testers (whether they are good or not they exist) and it's their job to identify failures or stuff that need to be fixed. I think community managers are here to interact with the community at least that's what it would make sense to me
-
It's probably because he is playing a better game.
-
We don't know how much he plays off of server, testing. If I had a choice of playing what everyone plays or play what no one else can play because I work for the developers.... I know what I would choose
-
Modificato da Naualli: 7/16/2015 3:16:32 PMFor Me DeeJ is nothing more than a marketing guy. He only plays the minimum that is required only to say that He plays and loves Destiny. Back in the Halo, even Marty O'Donnell had a respectable Halo profile. Also Joseph Staten had pretty good stats. So, that lame excuse that He has a full time job is without any backup or support. Even devs and engineers were regulars at LAN parties and they assisted as another fan and not as marketing representatives. Also, He's not a true Bungie member. If You have seen any ViDoc You would agree that any Bungie member sees what they do as a passionate hobby not as a job. I even remember Jason Jones in one ViDoc stating the inner mantra of Bungie saying that they love playing games and that they make games they love to play. I know it might not be in page with current state of Bungie but that's what it used to be back in the Marathon, Myth, Onix and early Halo eras. The new guy looks really like one of Us. Only time (and posts) will say.
-
Funny the new guy came so quickly after deej mentioned people calling him out for being a casual and how it stung hahah here's hoping for better relations

2 RispostePlaying a game and being a community manager are two completely different things. The problem was he wasn't doing anything in the community, and what he did was less than his Destiny playtime, or that's how he made it look.
