I drop by the "community" section only to see posts talking about noobs, scrubs and year one elitists bashing other players just for not having a certain item, grimoire score, end game completion or they use certain gear.
Take a step back from the screen, take a deep breath and try to contemplate life outside the video game space for a moment.
Let others enjoy the escapism the way they wish to experience it and not by your standards. It's all very trivial and contributes nothing to life's day to day.
These forms of entertainment are meant to be fun and help take some stress off the true daily grind.

If by lately you mean since the beginning of time, then yeah, I've always wondered the same.

Modificato da Doc SoCal: 7/8/2015 8:50:06 PMAll official forums are like this. Not much Bungie can do about it as asshats are paying customers too. An aggressive application of the mute button can weed out some of the noise but you have to be diligent.

2 RisposteForum the toxicity seems to be getting worse every month due to lack of moderator intervention. The good news is there is still one place you can fight and not have to worry about lag switchers.

The toxicity of these forums increased an incredible amount upon the release of Destiny.
-
Its not just lately. If has always been this way. Put a bunch of 20 and younger somethings in a place where they can say whatever they want without repercussion and the destiny forums is what you get
-
"lately" he says... you must not of seen them either pre-launch or post launch or pre DLC 1 or post DLC 1 or pre DLC 2 or ... you get the idea, bit of advice from someone who sifts through the forums semi regularly (even if i don't post much because it would just be a waste of time) just ignore a good 90% of it and never under any circumstance enter the off topic section... its bad down there, like really bad, and only look at the posts that actually have something interesting entertaining or constructive, should you wish to give some feedback and or agree with the poster, and just go from there
-
Lately? These forums have been full of foul language and bitter meaningless insults since day 1. You should have seen these forums back in the old days, so much calmer and more productive.

2 RisposteI know right? Planet destiny has been infected with the sickness Called "elite gamers " And now everyone with ghorn or thorn thinks he is the Best around And when everyone is like that, that my friends, creates the "toxicity"
-
It's always been toxic, where have you been?

2 RisposteModificato da me2ez: 7/8/2015 7:59:48 PMplease reply to me with these post talking about noobs, scrubs, and elitist bashing people over grimoire score and completions... because i think youre exaggerating about people doing and name calling like this, either you read a couple of pairs of people arguing or you dont realize something as simple as can be which is.. shitty games bring on shitty communities and there is a reason Destiny got 6/10 reviews just like there is a reason a end game raid director has the audacity to "sarcastically" assume we'll just throw money at something we've already paid for.

Modificato da R8 Revolver Only: 7/8/2015 8:20:26 PMThat's what happens when you give thousands of kids that are jacked up on hormones like a dolphin the power to speak their minds in a community that was created lol. Also the forums are still quite entertaining to see how some people react to things it's pretty funny. I'm just glad to say there is a huge difference between people You've got the chill common sense group and then you have the ( CoD Quickscopers ) Group as I like to say you know the group of kids who always yell "1 V 1 ME BRO!" But only the forums are acidic really once you get into the game everyone is pretty chill.

1 RispondiModificato da Moonglow: 7/8/2015 8:06:27 PMThe Bungie forums have always been full of idiots spewing their spleens. In fact, that applies to the entire online gaming community. I only visit these forums once or twice a week, otherwise the sheer stupidity starts to burn my soul.

sadly this is real life for some Welcome to the internet where opinions can be expressed without repercussions and everyone believes they are an alpha male. We are being stifled in our everyday lives with this new forced acceptance that is being exacted upon us, but the one place that still allows bigotry, narcissism, arrogance, and true freedom of ignorant expression is the forums. It does say 'Be Brave' for a reason.......

Lately? Have you and I been reading the same forums this whole time? This community has been toxic since launch. Possibly even the beta haha. My favorite was around November when everyone took all their hate out on poor Deej lol. Like what was he supposed to do? Learn how to do the work of an entire team of programmers, and invent a time machine so he could go back to launch and give you more content?

Because in the words of my friend Alice Cooper : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUugQoxS8_o
-
I think it's gotten a lot better tbh people used to straight flame anyone who wasn't 30 and had an opinion
-
1 RispondiKids are out of school and have nothing to do it would seem.
-
I've recently taken a break from destiny and I've noticed the same thing, everyone seems to hate each other now, can't we all just get along?!
-
It's a very common defense mechanism. A person with low self-esteem has to find ways to place themselves equal to or above others no matter how trivial or arbitrary their means to do so.
-
Sadly that is how the gaming community is. Every game gets hate, every company gets hate.
-
Forum gets any worse it'll be named Tromaville and the Toxic Avenger'll replace Deej.
-
Thanks for all the replies. I guess stating lately was a bit naive. I admit I've only started frequenting the forums more within the last couple of months though I've owned the game since launch.
