Seriously? It baffles me.
I'm not talking about the people who have like a 0.8kd, at least those sort of people can contribute to the game, I'm talking about those that get like between 0.2-0.4 how can they possibly enjoy playing it?
I genuinely don't understand, I am not at all good in the crucible but some people seem to just be awful.
Edit: Apologies, I rushed the original post between iron banner games and it didn't properly represent what I was asking, I wasn't actually getting on at people for having low Kds, it was more out of curiosity as to why e.g. Is it connection.
Edit: people are mostly saying it's reaction times and connection. Others are saying that their tv has something to do with it and steep learning curves, anyone else have anything that they feel affects them?

It's connection sometimes. If I were chronically 0.4 or below, though, I would think it was way too frustrating to even bother!

2 RisposteThe only way to get better is to play. Nike. Just do it.

2 RisposteI'm new to FPS, Destiny is the first game of the kind I've played in over 10 years. I'm awful at PvP because I don't have the armor and weapons most of the other players do, I'm still learning moving and strafing and shooting from the hip. I've got slow aim and have trouble with tracking the radar while I'm moving and not getting blink-shotty'd to the head. Am I complaining? No. It sucks, but it's part of learning and it's gotta happen if I want to get better. Lots to get used to when you're new, glad it's easy for you, but that doesn't actually make it easy. It's a hell of a learning curve without a history of COD, Halo and Battlefront to pull from. It's not mind boggling, it's a matter of perspective.

Tell me about it, I went 47 and 14 in a game of control and had almost 10,000 points, and my team barely won.

Modificato da Doc SoCal: 7/6/2015 4:23:36 PMSome people can't ride skateboards, some can't even run without tripping. Some people suck at math, others are so socially awkward they may faint when you say hello. Some people cant dress themselves, some cant cook an egg. Twitch gaming is the activity that leaves you wondering why some people cant do it well? I am wondering why that's a tough concept to grasp at all... ; )

Modificato da HIEX91: 7/6/2015 4:39:50 PMPlayed a red bar game and came out on top. Quite fun, only 2 Thorn abusers and fortunately they suck. On the other hand, going against a skilled Thorn or TLW abuser is pretty much suicide. Especially your connection is red. Fcking cheapskate Bungievi$ion, a monthly special pvp event yet they can not spare some dedicated servers?

Pretty much describes my KD, and yes I hate PvP. I only go in when I have to, Exotic bounty, Etheric light.
-
2 RisposteTry going 30-10 and still losing because your team sucks. I don't see how people are bad at this game. I wasn't even using op weapons, I was using messenger and queenbreakers.
-
Do you mean overall KD? Or in one match? Because sometimes people have bad days and don't do as good as they would
-
Maybe they just enjoy the loots that you get for playing. You get stuff whether you pwn or suck so...

I did Iron Banner for the first time this time around. I'm pretty horrible but I play with friends, if not for them I won't do it. Also finding the right weapon for the individual is also helpful, for PvE I use a scout rifle/Fusion/RL, for PvP oversoul Edict/Shotty/LMG, the pvp portion took me a while to figure out. Winning isn't everything but being blown out sucks.
-
We all have off days I suppose. I imagine if it's that low and they stick it out they're just practicing.
-
My first pvp game. Your welcome for the wins
-
I suck at pvp. It frustrates me that I am so bad, lol. Have the thorn bounty and I'll never finish it.

2 RisposteModificato da c_hille_: 7/6/2015 3:37:12 PMi love the hell out of crucible. as anyone checking my stats can see though, i suck at it. i'll have the occassional 3+ k/d game (on my hunter at least) thanks to the Almighty Suros but for the most part, .5 - 1.2 is where i reside. i have never PvP'd prior to Destiny and there is a certain mindset for it that seems to be counter-intuitive to the way i FPS. i prefer to sit back, snipe and whittle down opposition but in crucible, where focused aggression is a lifestyle, i am mostly out-matched. i have started trying to at least hit that middle ground between camper and Leroy Jenkins but that is only really possible with intimate knowledge of the map, and an inkling of what a good opponent might do in whatever situation you find yourself in. not to mention that comfort level with a gun you know and trust. all these things take time. for people new to the pvp side of things, forgive us our miserable k/d's and we'll do our part to invest time and effort into being solid team members and maybe, eventually even slayers of the most lethal order.

Im bad at pvp, I dont enjoy it, I spend most of tje time in pve
-
4 RisposteYeah it's called having two strokes and losing the strength in your right arm and hand and losing coordination and reaction times!
-
I have to agree with you--I can't even grasp how it's possible for people to go 0-18 or worse, which I've seen a few times.
-
25 RisposteYou barely have a positive KD mate why are you calling them bad?
-
8 RisposteSome people play on their big screen which is fine since i do that when playing pve but when it comes to pvp, input lag will destroy you.

2 RisposteModificato da SuggestedPigeon: 7/6/2015 3:29:46 PMOccasionally I'll get trapped in an endless cycle of horrible spawns and instant deaths and it tanks my k/d considerably for that game. You haven't lived until you spawn in direct line of view with a sniper. Or in the same place five times only to get rocketed or machine gunned down before you can even take two steps. It's pretty rage inducing like a lot of the spawns in this game feel like some kid in halo 3 forge just threw a pile of respawn points in a corner.

10 RisposteModificato da Sixclicks: 7/6/2015 3:36:22 PMThere are too many possible factors as to why somone would be bad in PVP. Lag New gamer New to FPS New to multiplayer Undergeared Playing against oponents way above their skill level Kids messing around on parent's account TV input lag (that's why I use a monitor) Physical or mental disabilities Attempting to use underpowered weapons because they like them Poor reaction time or hand-eye coordination Playing distracted by TV or kids, etc. Playing drunk Playing high Playing fatigued Etc. Case in point, I have a friend who's new to the game and doesn't really play many FPS games. When she first started pvp with us she was still lowerlevel and she averaged between 0.1 to 0.2 k/d. Now that she's better geared and has gotten better over the past few weeks, she's averaging a 0.8 which is much better than initially. As for in IB, I don't think you should be in there unless you're confident in your ability to positively contribute to your team.

I'm still fairly new to PvP and have a long way to go till I can get consistently good results. Part of the problem (in my opinion) is the matchmaking. For example, at the start of this weeks Iron Banner I was getting matchmade with people of similar skill to myself and was performing well, but after a few days of getting good results in most of my matches the matchmaking system has somehow decided that I'm actually good at PvP and is now matching me against players who are way better - I've gone from getting between 1.5 and 3.5 to between 0.2 and 0.8. The progression curve just seems a little steep and I've gone from believing I'm actually improving to realising I still suck. Another reason you'll come across people who get very low KDs is when an inexperienced player like myself is in a team with friends who are very skilled at PvP. The opposition will generally be just as good as the experienced players and the noob just ends up getting wrecked.

2 RisposteSorry that I suck ill try harder ;-;

1. No understanding on how pvp works, they treat it like pve, thus, get slaughtered 2. Bad builds...there are ways to build your character, not just select the next available perk and not change back to a better one... Yay iron harvest...in pvp...When you don't even get to an ammo spawn 3. Weapons, that mulligan/double down/custom optics/ surplus/auto rifle is really going to help....not 4. Bad map knowledge, self explanatory 5. Bad environmental awareness. Running after an enemy, not looking at the radar, being out in the open...leads to many deaths There's alot that goes into pvp. If you don't care to learn the basics when you first start pvping, your going to get slaughtered
