How can people be so terrible at pvp?
Seriously? It baffles me.
I'm not talking about the people who have like a 0.8kd, at least those sort of people can contribute to the game, I'm talking about those that get like between 0.2-0.4 how can they possibly enjoy playing it?
I genuinely don't understand, I am not at all good in the crucible but some people seem to just be awful.
Edit: Apologies, I rushed the original post between iron banner games and it didn't properly represent what I was asking, I wasn't actually getting on at people for having low Kds, it was more out of curiosity as to why e.g. Is it connection.
Edit: people are mostly saying it's reaction times and connection. Others are saying that their tv has something to do with it and steep learning curves, anyone else have anything that they feel affects them?

Depends who I'm with, how well my team and I work together. Depends on if I'm chasing bounties or playing for real. Depends on how late I'm staying up. Stats mean nothing to me. So I'll rush into 4 people to try to get that last melee for the bounty. All depends. Plus I've only ever seen Gjallarhorn drop for someone who had gone negative. I'll be trying that out too.

Its possibly the weapons used and the amount of time spent in pvp. I have a 1.7 kd. But I feel if I keep playing as I am now. It will drop to 0.7 because of how little I play.

3 RisposteOne of the biggest things is also playing woth a group vs playing alone. I usually have around a .8-1.2 playing alone but like between a 1.8-4.0 with a groip of friends on my team even if we are just messing around.

Crucible is broken....true story. Even with a thorn/TLW nerf.....would still be broken.

6 RisposteI'm capable of a 4.0 and a .4 Sometime you just have "that game" and can't get going, or just have maps you don't do well on (twilight gap is mine). Spawn and turn around and a blade dancer comes whizzing through the door, respawn and find out that single blip is 4 guys. Shotgun a guy and find out he's lagged but his team mate coming from behind you isn't. I had one game yesterday on pantheon where I ran into golden gun active on both heavy spawns on the same cycle. Plus if none of my team is having a good game I probably won't either.

But my overall overage still sits at 0.74. If they're worse than me, well... It's probably time to quit. I mean, I'm the guy who will go through the same door 4 times and get killed by the same guy 4 times. I try to be smarter than that most of the time, but I do slip up regularly. Frankly I'm amazed that I ever got Thorn and Invective. I did a lot of running away and opportunistic killing. It was hilarious to see my 4.0 k/d, but only have 4 kills. Edit: if I was leading the team, it was usually a guaranteed loss, as my score was usually about the same as the middle of the road guys on the other team. I also found that I did considerably better if I was with decent/good players and did really bad if I was with bad players.

Lag is another factor, but not as much as me doing it to myself. Also I'm older than most players, so that might be a factor too.

What baffles me is how I'm a level 32 and everyone else on my team is at 34. Yet I put up on average about 4000-5000 points a game and they can't put up the remaining 16000 between 5 people to get a win. My kd is normally around 2.2 and these people have better weapons and armor bonuses than but they're kd is at .5. It's just mind boggling.

7 Risposteim sorry, I play on a 20" monitor, tv isn't an issue. im on a wifi connection, its not an issue. reaction times? yea, theirs probably. my problem is the dipshits that run around doing nothing, not helping defend, not helping capture, flipping spawns, pushing wrong flags. THOSE are the people that suck at pvp.

1 Rispondimaybe they just see it as a Game and do not care about a K/D. or if they have "Skills" pressing a button. they just want to make the little character go Pew Pew pew and have Fun. then again that just sounds silly, who buys and plays games for fun?

I have good games and bad games, but can usually maintain a steady 1.0-1.3 between game modes

5 RisposteI despise the notion that your k/d defines your ability. Unless you're playing a game mode that has zero objectives, k/d is irrelevant. I play Control almost exclusively (when I actually decide to pvp). The people that I see with high k/d are mostly the ones with 0-1 captures. They avoid the objective at all costs, instead working their way around the edges of the spawn points. Either that, or they pick a particular hallway (nowhere near the objective) and run back and forth. If this describes your playstyle, more power to you... but I'd rather have the guy or girl with a .5 k/d that is reliably playing the objective and watching his/her teammates backs. There are a few players I have encountered who play the objective & get a high k/d, but they are very rare.

8 RisposteI have a low kd and thats because I focus on objectives. I blame my teammates for not being able to hold two locations at once. I mean yea cool we got all 3 points but when the enemy spawns behind us and change the tide then I am the one that has to run in and try to stop them
