Relic holders?
So who can use the relic in VoG? I'm only wondering because I did vault on a friend's system.
He/I was level 34 with 5 other random 34's. We were at Templar(on hard) and they wanted me to not use relic since I had the only Gjallarhorn. So I asked 'Who knows how to use the relic?'
Dead silence. Then one said
'What's a relic?'
So now I'm wondering.....
How many can use the relic? Is it a dying art?

I can run relic for whole raid and sword on crota, not just Templar relic.

Relic is my speciality, me and my other fireteam member are the only two that can use it, and I seem to be the only one of my group to run sword, if anything I enjoy it, I don't have to worry about ammo and because Ive done it so frequently that I have no stress doing it either :)

Literally most fun part of the entire game, running relic in VoG. I cannot think of a more fun and satisfying feeling in all of destiny than running the relic in all parts of VoG for any group, experienced or not. Crota raid sword is fun but that whole battle was broken for many weeks, it wasn't nearly as fun. PoE doesnt have any sort of relic. PvP is so unbalanced nothing as fun.

First time my fire team ever took me through VoG I was trained in the art of relic holding during all parts.

Aiegis shield, yeah easy... I rarely have problems running it Sword... Not so much... only taken Crota once, usually a rocket monkey... Did it on hard though first so I'm convinced i can do it pretty well now

I use the relic and shoot gjallarhorn at the templar.

Back when armor mattered, my Titan would run relic unless we did Templar cheese(op pulse grenades).

1 RispondiSigned. Back in the day when you were a 29 running it on hard (30) those were the proper skilled relic holders, played with a guy called nga lol, he was a boss with it

1 RispondiI like the relic. Much more than being swordbearer. Did you tell them that you don't need Gjallarhorn to get past the templar? You should've just picked it up.

This is something I have noticed too. I think it's been since the last expansion. Alot of the best players don't need to run vault anymore because they have the weapons now and have moved onto the new end game stuff like poe and trials. I still run it weekly and I nearly always end up as relic holder now because people that still run it seem to have never learned it!

Defiantly dying. I myself can run it easily on all 3 sections that require relic holders, however I have found that I am one of few.
