Relic holders?
So who can use the relic in VoG? I'm only wondering because I did vault on a friend's system.
He/I was level 34 with 5 other random 34's. We were at Templar(on hard) and they wanted me to not use relic since I had the only Gjallarhorn. So I asked 'Who knows how to use the relic?'
Dead silence. Then one said
'What's a relic?'
So now I'm wondering.....
How many can use the relic? Is it a dying art?

I can run relic for whole raid and sword on crota, not just Templar relic.

3 RisposteModificato da DBN: 7/1/2015 10:04:11 PMI can do it all. Lol. Every time I do vault or crota I ask "who wants to do the relic, who wants to run sword?". It's either "sure I can" or Silence. Total silence. The silence lasts quite a long time, and it happens more often than encountering people who know how, or want to learn. I follow it up with, "ok sure I'll do it". In my eyes very few people want to learn, but often I force them and they do ok. Taught a guy to run sword. He died three times on normal. Revived him, let him have another go. Once we killed the ogres he killed crota after two more swords, he was a 34 but it was important for him to learn. He's actually quite good at it now and kills him on hard, on the second sword, third kneel without dying once. People just need to learn the basics, but no-one wants to give it a go for fear of embarrassing themselves. On another note I did a nightfall with randoms from lfg, after we did the weekly, first thing I heard was "what strike is this?" "Omnigul", I replied. "That's the big spider thing isn't it?" was his response. Yeah, well, destiny sure made leveling up to the max level a whole lot easier, didn't they...

i can but i dont! always had vog weapons so i always get relegated oracles which is ok

Picked it up as soon as i saw it say press square/X to pick up the relic, way back in september, mastered it in about 10 mins.

I love the VoG so I do it every week just for fun sometimes! I usually do normal and help the newbies through the raid. I've mastered the relic and I'm ok at sword bearing!

Me and the relic are good buddies, we go way back.

You want your relic holder to have Gjallarhorn...drop the relic, shoot 2 rockets, pick it up, drop it, reload... During oracles I heavy ammo glitch to make sure I have lots of ammo for my relic/rocket time

Can run relic in VoG. Was able to 2-sword hard Crota before cap was raised. It's a lost art, now.

1 RispondiI was still missing Corrective Measure a few months ago and joined LFG at GateKeeper HM I went in one portal with another guy and he took the relic no problem.. I was ready to go in the next portal and no one was going to go with me - all remaining said "we will just get killed in there" They did manage to keep it open and I did manage to solo that portal but dang... Corrective Measure dropped thankfully, we went on to Atheon at which point it was a wipe-a-thon with no clue how to do oracles or relic unless the other guy or I got teleported. Tried to help for a while but all agreed to disband.

Relic has become an easy job if you know what it is. So they shouldn't have cared if you had gjallahorn or not because they didn't even know what it was. So, either you lied or they did.

2 RisposteGjallarhorn is dangerous against templar. I wouldn't try using it with randoms. You have to time your shot with the relic holder. These guys you were playing with must have never done Vault of Glass. Not fun because you usually have to carry them, which in turn, will take all day. I actually played with randoms on Crota the other day, and they said they never beat Crota on Hard. I thought they were kidding, but they weren't..... so I'm guessing Destiny is still getting new players.

Running the Relic is a lot easier than the Sword. Less riskier as well

I'm by no means a pro, but I don't mind running either. Relic on vog is fun.

It is a dying art. I'm one of the few great relic holders left.
