Am I the only one?

Am I the only one finding it harder and harder everyday to jump on Destiny and play? Right now I'm sitting in front of my t.v. and thinking to myself if it's worth it. I have some PoEs that I need to get finished, I'd like to run trials, need the boots for all 3 of my guys. But I'm sitting here unmotivated to even bother with this game. In the past I would've been like, damn I got lots to do and less time to do it in before reset. Not sure if it's because my friends aren't playing as much anymore or if it's this dlc/expansion bs with the pricing. I don't know but something has turned me off. Are any of you guys feeling the same and if so why? Just looking for answers. Thanks for the support guys and gals! I'll never get tired of the great people like you guys on this forum.

  • I play rarely now, which is extremely sad, considering my undying love for this game.. I have every single desirable legendary piece of armor/weapon in the game ascended.. All exotics ascended. Trials is spent and lately, becoming broken. No need to run PoE's... Shit, I even have 3 VoC's ascended lol. Happy Wars and GTA V take up most of my available time, until Star Wars and Gears of War come out, of course. It is what it is. This game is great. It's beautiful. It's just dying... Once you have all the items, all the characters maxed, everything leveled, it becomes very bland. I suggest an open world PvP... Earth, The Moon, Venus, ANYWHERE! Think about how neat that would be.... I'm not going to bother getting into detail. OPEN WORLD PVP... No negative outcomes, just rewards. There would be different worlds, PvP open worlds, and then the regular ones we've got beyond sick of.. Imagine going into a patrol with a few of your friends, knowing damn well, carnage is about to ensue... One can only hope.

    • Hey there, its about a few minutes to read and bump, if you consider, this. Many friends of mine are leaving behind the game because so many reasons. Some by boring, others bc they already have all (and when I say all, its everything you can imagine) and the last bc pircing. It wasnt a good week the last week. I know, everyone could see how cool looks TTK but I feel how everything goes down here. If you have played TTB and HoW and compare their prices with TTK, its a mad question. May I keep playing this game? Should I take a breath? Talking about content, yes, we can reforge our weapons, but, there's no raid. I split up with many players of my ex-clan bc they simply can't complete something ridiculous as PoE 35, by far, so bored, and repetitive (Basically, strike's methodologies). Many of yours would be in that situation too, for sure. Now it's summer, there's a lot of games out there to play, sun, beach, friends, parties... Better plans that playing crucible with DDOS and Lagging or repeat a bunch of PoE with no sense (1 per hour appx) with a stupid reward. So I get it now. I'm completely sure Bungie will lost a lot of vets in the next months. They will have the last word here. So listen to us. Improve the game. Ban the cheaters. Stop to fix loot caves and fix Nechrochasm, restore AR power, nerf poison of Thorn, make so much difficult to reach the max level (Every time I play the game I can see 34 that they could be 20 lv), Give all emotes for free to all players who really deserves. This is game is not CoD, is not Final Fantasy, or Harry Potter. It will break down if you simply can't keep the really fans on there. Stop to look for more players, and think of make happy you already have. Maybe, they're the last one... Edit: Sorry for my bad english mates, I'm not from there. Cheers.

      • I thought I was the only one. I think it's because of all the bs that bungie gave us. Not just the stupid DLCs but everything. Like the auto rifle nerf and how the 2 DLCs are not worth the money so we got tired of complaining without getting heard so we just got off.

      • Crucible is all I play now. It's a callback to what I first really did when the game launched. My skill just keeps climbing & I actually have fun. Everything else is so monotonous. I may do one raid or one nightfall a week & that's it.

In my opinion the game is kind of in a dry spell right now until TTK comes out -- especially if you don't PVP a lot like I do. PoE was cool at first, but then I realized it was the same exact locations and same exact objectives for all four difficulties with rehashed enemies and a single boss mechanic. On top of that, the majority of rewards suck. Try finding a group to mess around in Crucible, raids, etc. with regularly. Try different things like only using certain weapons and stuff like that. Makes it more interesting. PoE is a prime example of lazy cash grab development. If TTK's raid isn't at least close to VoG standards, I will quit the game.

      • I've gone back to Warframe, a game Destiny could learn a lot from, and I dragged a lot of my Destiny peeps over thattaways. Also have some backlog to work on, so ... I'll be playing Tuesday, doing the Weeklies and Nightfalls as usual, but after that? Maybe I'll hit Iron Banner, but definitely I'll be playing some Warframe and GTAV.

      • the only reason i play destiny is for trials i like the game mode but its getting old seeing all the throns and final round sniper plus the bad connections, POE is a joke now i still have a cipher that's been sitting in my inventor. crota was a cake walk before the DLC now i can brezze throught it solo like a daily mission. ethic light is easy to get ive upgraded every weapon that i use regular have may legendary armor sets upgraded and still have 23 light left on me. for me this DLC was a bust, if it wasnt for trials id say it was a waste, hope for TTK is high and i hope im right.

      • Truth. Happened to me when I hit 32 in TDB. I was gone for a couple months playing this and that. I tried ESO, but no... But now I'm back and want to hit 34, but more modestly. I have like 80 days before TKK lol I think TDB's grind to get to 32 really caused a lot of the burnout. You may have just hit 32 in time to be obsolete by this. Perhaps Bungie is releasing level caps too quickly? I know Etheric Light really helped but still we were trying to level everything new and old up. It's good to have goals, but maybe it's too much if it requires dozens of hours a week. Maybe they should release a DLC that doesn't up level caps and just lets us focus on gear and guns? I get there are always hardcore players that no matter how much content is released will never be enough, but for the majority, a breather will be necessary.
As a side note pricing doesn't bother me. We don't pay monthly for this game. Other MMOs you need to pay for expansions as well as monthly "access." So I don't mind the pricing. I do think they could probably reduce DLC costs by about $10 if they released vanity micro transactions (ships, shaders, ghosts, sparrows, etc) but it's just not an issue to me. I'm also a working professional who sees the cost of these things as sacrificing one dinner out a year to pay for this... So...
• Im losing interest as well. These last two DLCs just havent provided a ton of engaging content. My favorite PvE activity is still VoG by far and crucible is just getting trashed by ToO tryhards (that game mode is horrible imo). Im not sure if Im even gonna buy TTK at this point. I have enjoyed this game tremendously...

          • Bungle / Innactvision are slowly, but surely, killing a golden goose through alienating the loyal fan base of (previously enthusiastic) players. The loyalty to Master Chief runs deep - for the then kids who played, and their parents' - who were their 'Wingmen'. And that 'loyalty' carried over to the mega-hyped Destiny Universe - so full of promise and delight!! And then, we got the 3-card trick played on us with a shell of a game thrust upon an unsuspecting public. They oversouled (lah!) the sizzle, and served-up a skank piece of steak. It took a while for people to cop on, and when they did, and started to voice their legitimate grievances, Bungle / Innactvision poured scorn and cold water over them; then, they rubbed salt into the wounds through some PR blunders of epic proportions... Mammon: Luke, I am your Father... The real issues that need fixing (lag, cheaters, thoughtful weapon/game balance, vault space, content, etc.) are ignored, instead, they proudly announce the gift of a shiny purple ball and a jukebox. The mind boggles!?! PoE - especially lvl 35 is a pointless exercise, for me; i simply will not waste the hours required to grind for such useless rewards. I was awarded a loot drop for a lvl 34 completion but was NOT rewarded with the actual loot won/earned. I sought help via the Help forum...and got none, not even s reply from anyone on the Help team. And, it seems, I was not the only one. Thanks, guys!? So, now, I have zero interest in PoE after 32/34 have been done on reset - to gain etheric light, only, and not for the actual gameplay of it. And for ToO - too many complaints of cheating and lagging are a signal to leave well alone. And let's not even mention the long sought cry for OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING - another blunder by you know who. But here's the rub: Destiny is a fabulous game to play - for s thousand snd one different reasons, but in its current state - it's very sick...and WE ALL WANT IT TO GET BETTER! But, to us, the players/parents who spend the hard-earned money, we're almost, if not already at - the tipping point...of no return. At least, I know I am. And it's not Deej's fault...he's a nice chap, I'm sure, doing a very difficult job, of parlaying the edicts of the corporate entity to the masses. I hope they treat him well... So, Bungle / Innactvision - the writing is on the wall... Bad boyz, bad boyz, watcha gonna do?

this games tainted too much... its just evident there will always be too much drama over insignificant nonsense like overpriced cosmetics and apologies from within from people for having a toxic.... oops i meant sarcastic personality. Ya ill throw money at the screen, but ill be throwing my money at games developed by respectful gamer enthusiast like myself from companies like Bethesda, projekt RED, 343 industries, ubisoft... christ even EA seems like they have more respect for their fans at this point. I think this game was the final straw for me and anything activision touches.

              • i believe the problem lies with the replayability of destiny's content. its would seem that once youve done everything you just have to wait until the next dlc comes out which sadly seems like bungie wants you to do. play as much destiny as you can, get your fix, then buy the next dlc when it comes out. for me there is nothing really for me left to do. ive gotten all the gear and guns that i want, have 3 characters lvl 34 and yet here i am saying to myself, well what now? i simply dont care about the weekly events anymore, i dont need the rewards and ive certainly done them enough to be bored with all the strikes. ive done the raids so many times that i simply cringe at the the thought of doing them again. they're just so easy now. it really does sound like im complaining a lot but i really do like destiny and i want to be able to come back to this game but honestly im just waiting for star wars battlefront, and halo 5 and all the other games announced at e3. the taken king does not interest me at all. it seems just like all the other dlc that will tide me over for acouple of weeks then i will be bored again. idk destiny was super fun and i love the lore but it does seem more and more like its not worth playing anymore
