What is up with the folks playing trials??
I have been mostly a pve Destiny player up until house of wolves launched. I have helped run countless numbers of folks through the raids, as a relic holder and sword bearer, always willing to help the community. Why are the trials of Osiris different. Where are the kind-hearted people that are willing to help those in need?? I am not the best at pvp but I enjoy the heck out of it, and I am rapidly improving. Why is it that everyone requires an MLG type player in order to get into groups? How are the lesser players supposed to improve if there is no room for them?
I used to love running people with less skill than I, through the raids, teaching them along the way. It's a game folks, let's not forget that. It's supposed to be fun. People are going to die. Sometimes you are going to lose. Why be an a-hole about it? Does that really help you or the community grow? I get that the lighthouse is special and reserved for the very best, but that does not have to serve as a right of entitlement.
I am looking for people, who game on xbox one, that are willing to be part of a team that is dedicated to improving together and working together to get better. If you fit the bill, post here and add me. Let's grow together as a community. Also, if you ever need a relic holder, swordbearer, or a SKOLAS run, hit me up and i would be more than happy to help!!

EDIT 2: just went 8-0 and then choked hard in the last match. Ended the night right around 1.0kd. Had a great group of guys tonight, we just got a little nervous in the end and wasted supers. We had much better gun skill than they did, but such is the way of the trials!! Try again tomorrow
EDIT 3: Again thank you to everyone who is contributing to this thread, it has been a very constructive conversation. I wanted to clarify a couple things though. I am certainly not looking for a carry, I am looking for people who want to grow and/or share their knowledge of how they have grown as a pvp player. I think we all understand the difference between pvp and pve, and why the two are vastly different. The good players can still provide mentorship to the lesser players, even if patterns, maps, and routines change. I myself have not yet been worthy of lighthouse gifts, and I am ok with that, but I am constantly striving to get better and look for advice from those who are better than me. If playing with them helps, then all the better. I am not expecting every good player to be willing to carry bad ones through, that's not at all what I am saying. I am just trying to get the more of the better players to be patient with the lesser players and teach them, realizing everyone has a different learning curve and pace. The better everyone gets, the better the community gets, and the better the competition gets. Growth is always healthy when speaking in terms of games like this. Keep up the great discussion guys and gals!!
EDIT 4: THE LIGHTHOUSE HAS BEEN REACHED!!! The struggle was real, the practice sessions were long, the journey was worth it, and the rewards were excellent!!! I am happy to have joined the group and will be happy to play with others that need help as well. The lighthouse is probably the neatest place I've seen in destiny and I want others to experience it as well!! LETS DO THIS!!!

ToO is insane. I used to consider myself to be a decent PVP player but I'm currently 0-12 in trials. I'd read the strategies and watched videos but it seems like every team we face is amazing. Well except one. Apparently both teams were 0-2 and it was a race to see which team could commit suicide faster as a "favor" to the other team. It was very welcome entertainment. But I didn't start until this past week. Maybe all the average people like me have quit and gone back to Iron Banner... There was a time where I thought Iron Banner was hard so maybe ToO will get easier with time too.

it is because ToO is full of elitist assholes that only want to help themselves. It is easy now to see who was actually helping people do the raids and who wanted help getting themselves through the raids. They are the same people that post "max g-horns only". Entitled jerks that only want to tell everyone how good they are and don't care about anyone else.

If people need help on Xbox One I can assist along with another one of my friends. I have almost 50,000 kills in pvp with a k/d of 1.86 and i have quite a few friends with similar k/ds who would probably assist. In order to get to the lighthouse I can only help one person at a time so I won't have time for everyone unfortunately.

Raids have checkpoints and Poe has rounds, if you don't have a good team and lose twice in trials it's over and the problem is most people want flawless and not the 8 teir reward

Wow, what a rough week in trials. My best card this weekend was 5-0. I did not get to play on Saturday or Sunday but man Friday and Monday were ROUGH! I came into the weekend feeling good after a week of wrecking people in iron banner, but I left the weekend completely drained and extremely discouraged over the step back. After getting so close the previous two weeks, this week was a real kick in the gut. I am still searching for folks that would like to form a consistent team that plays together on a regular basis. I think that at be my only hope at getting to the lighthouse. I am not a quitter, but boy did I come close to giving up on the lighthouse altogether, this weekend. The pursuit of perfection is getting more and more difficult it seems. I will be trying again this weekend. Add me up and send me a message if you are interested in forming a team or helping out. Trails is for the MLG'ers. They can make money off of running other people's characters through Trails. You, my friend, are probably better suited for the Iron Banner. That's where all of your, "PvE'ers and nice guy Raiders get their feel.

Me being skill level 30 and a friend I met on destinylfg skill level 38... Brought on a skill level 14 and played against 3 skill level 40s and won... It was rough and we had a come back from 1-4...

Look at trials like a raid except like this, each time you all die you have to restart the entire raid. Therefore there becomes less room for -blam!- ups. I've carried people through flawless trials and I'm now done. I only with certain groups now.

I completely agree. I like the idea of trials but if you aren't apart of the exclusive group of people that have already been to the lighthouse you are shit out of luck. I managed to go 8-1 a few times but can never seal the deal. I consider myself an average player and tend to hold my own in PvP. I have done everything else in Destiny, everything on Xbox One that is, so going flawless would be nice at least once but I am starting to question if it is worth my time.

Trials is all about communication it is the most vital part along with chemistry and knowing how your team plays and what stratigies each of your team mates are best at. That's why I'd rather play with friends

I think what makes helping in Pve different than trials is the penalty for losing. If you die in the raid then the rest of the team can finish until the next checkpoint if you lose a match in trials then you have to start all over to try and go flawless.

It has hurt my overall stats and trials stats but i don't give a -blam!-, people are paying , lagging and, exploiting their way to the lighthouse so why can't the honest players get a chance. The tryhard are the idiots who post crying about weak players having the emblem, if they got theirs without being carried then good for them. Not everyone can do that so if people need to be carried who cares? It hurts no one...
