90% of the primaries used in trials is the Thorn. 8% last word 2% red death or other. This is rough guess on my experience on this week's map. Hand cannons are to powerful. It's all I use now.

Players should use whatever gives them the greatest advantage. It's the game designers (Bungie in this case) job to make it so no single gun overwhelms all others.

You have 116000 kills in pvp you done fcuk all strikes raids etc in pve But you have 60000 kills with shotguns so which is worse your blink shot gunning or thorn I'd take on thorn rather the blink shot gun you pvp pro

There's two schools of thought on Thorn: [b]Logical[/b] - Looking at Thorns TTK combined with DoT, recovery stoppage, range, stability, mage size, rate of fire, impact, etc. it is clear Thorn is OP. I like Thorn, but the facts speak for themselves about this gun. It is the most powerful primary in the game and has no weakness. Comparatively, it is factually OP. [b]Stupid[/b] - Butthurt kids who won't engage in a logical discussion about their gun. They will tell you to "git gud" or that the solution is to just use the same gun. You will be able to identify these players when the Thorn nerf comes because they will be the ones shooting up the wall and punching air in front of you.

Yes, the range has to be reduced. I would also agree if the DoT was reduced. It's powerful enough that health regeration is blocked.

I stopped reading after you said that 100% of the community uses exotic handcannons to go flawless, while handcannons are very popular it's probably around 80% Also thorn has its weaknesses to easy beat it with. Hawkmoon can out gun it from a farther distance, and TLW beats thorn in closer ranges. While thorn is op, it's all handcannons that need a nerf, not just thorn, not just the exotics, all of them. But only slightly, don't want them to become like auto rifles

Not hate I just want to point in that once in a blue moon the hawkmoon can actually one shot someone if all the perks stack in one bullet. But if you have ever watched competitive CoD they use the most powerful weapons. Why? Because you won't do well with a weapon that takes forever to kill. Now I do agree its not balanced but that's why people use it.

The only reason why thorn is game changing in toO its because of the poison(no s#|+) but not for the kill it wont let you health regen that fast and make you an easy target for granades... Depending on the team you are against its a go weapon(campers) for rushing team last word is the best choice...

There is no such thing as cheap or OP in any pvp game. Stop crying and play to win like everyone else. No one cares if you're a special snowflake.

honestly i use it and although i dont claim. to be good there is one problem with it. the amo is to high. if it has a two shot potential and nine bullets that is potentially 4 kills and a half with final round on one reload, op handcanons are sopposed to be low ammo to balance the gun naturally. i was pissed they uped it to nine i say cut the ammo to five or six and drop reload speed. and this id coming from a thorn lover. also they just sold red death wich outguns it most times and cancels the poison damige so instead of complaining. till they break the hole weapon class like they did ato rifles use a thorn killer! red death. shotguns. and skilled snipers should always kill thorn if your good ..

But before I tell you what I think, let me post here what I thought was a pretty interesting match up against a team of three Thorn users. The problem lies with the DoT. You can greatly increase damage fall-off on the DoT based on the real-time location of the Guardian who fired. If he wants to get the full-benefit of the DoT, he will have to be painfully close, close enough where the opposing gunman has a chance to return fire. When the Thorn user dies, effect goes away.
