No women were right to fight for voting rights because in the constitution it says everyone has the right to vote. Women fought hard for their rights. What im saying is gays always had rights but just because we live in a world where its common sense for a man and woman to be together, gays felt opressed when in reality they had the same rights as everybody.

So it's up to you to decide what rights are priority? If a same sex couple can't marry, how the hell do they have the "same rights"? Just because the constitution doesn't specify every single human right doesn't mean that they're not important and obviously having this bill pass just means that it WAS indeed important.
-
Okay but marriage not being specified in the constitution shows that there many more important things above it. Yet people are acting like its the most important thing thats happened yet and ignorant people comparing this gay marriage situation to when the US gained its independence.
-
Just because they didn't think of it back then doesn't make it any less important, those were simpler times and I'm sure had there been a larger vocal homosexual community that would have been written in and nobody would think anything of it. Sure it's not the BIGGEST thing in the world but to people affected by it, it sure is.

Modificato da The Architect: 6/27/2015 4:38:54 AMLook i can understand the gays feeling the way they feel but what irritates me is all the social media and all the people that support just because its part of a trend now. They make it look bigger than what it actually is.
-
Yeah but that's no reason to belittle the needs and accomplishments of the actual people it benefits. <3
-
I dont belittle gays at all. If someone wants to be gay, be gay as long as it doesnt affect me. But im tired of seeing how big people make this look, especially social media. Nobody ever gets this excited towards veterans at all and in my opinion they deserve 10x the attention than this gay marriage vote.
-
I mean, if you're trying to downplay it just because the media has nothing better to do... I get where you're coming from but to a great deal of people it is a big deal. A very big deal.

I understand just like how it meant to women when they got voting rights or when blacks were freed from slavery.
