And Angry Joe agrees!
But that's apparently alright, because the Weekly Update used nice words and made you feel good.
How is anyone still defending this DLC?
EDIT: Because some people have difficulty understanding the problem, let me put it like this...
Do you think that those 9 cosmetic items are equal content to House of Wolves or Dark Below? If not, why are they the same cost?
I've asked multiple Destiny defenders this question, and they've either flaked out of the conversation, or ignored the question.
EDIT 2: Before you come onto this thread and spout off a dozen times about how "You don't need to buy it!", consider this...
When people buy over-priced DLC, it tells the gaming industry that it's OK to over-charge for scarce content, because people will buy it anyway.
And because those increased prices will eventually reach the people who "don't buy it", it's our responsibility to call out bad practices when we see them.
EDIT 3: For the people screaming that I'm obviously poor, user DragoonKai sums it up perfectly...
People don't get the reason why were upset: it's not like we can't spare $40 for TTK or $20 for the items. Hell, even a kid with a limited allowance can afford that. It's about the principle; about the fact that Bungie -blam!-ed up and instead of apologizing and making things right, they tried to sell us their -blam!- up by giving us pretty words in the shape of a half assed apology.
EDIT 4: What a toxic community; I'm legitimately disappointed in you people. For every person that provides an ounce of discussion value, 5 more come running out, howling and screaming that: 1.) "You're just poor" 2.) "Just don't buy it!" or (my personal favorite) 3.) Resort to personal insults to make up for a lack of coherent thought.
I'd like to say people like that deserve to be shafted by this decision, and be punished for their lack of understanding, but that lack of understanding directly effects everyone who refuses to support and defend being over-charged for no content.
EDIT 5: It appears that the people defending over-priced DLC have shifted the conversation to the concept that, "since *Insert game here* does it, it's okay for Destiny to do it too!" In response to this, I ask that you remember the adage that your parents told you; "If all your friends were jumping from a bridge, would you jump too?" Just because other people/groups/companies are doing something, it doesn't make it a good thing, nor does it justify it.
EDIT 6: It saddens me that this new Bungie community is so quick to zealously defend a bad deal, simply because it is "more Destiny". When a company starts making comments about how you are used to "paying a premium" for basic content and "throwing your money at the screen" for trivial items, you need to call them out before that becomes a precedent. But instead of being good consumers, many people here have instead chosen to blindly follow along, despite the consequences it will have.
EDIT 7: "You just want free stuff!" isn't an answer or rebuttal to this thread. I don't think the word "free" has appeared on it until this edit, so at what point did I ask for free content? All I'm asking for is a fair and reasonable pricing model for a small amount of content.

Who cares physical collectors edition back on sale
-
The only thing worse than this is the Destiny apologists. They're in such denial of getting screwed over it's infuriating.
-
And now the micro transaction train is starting pull out of the station. Oh joy.
-
I'm satisfied.

It would be better if each of the digital content could be purchased separately. TTK itself is overpriced but I'm hoping there is actually 40$ worth of content in that dlc. So far all I estimate that the dlc is only worth at most 30$ and I'm being generous about that price.

2 RisposteModificato da o0DELTA FORCE0o: 6/25/2015 1:27:14 AMStill have mine bought for $40. I don't stomp my feet and throw a temper tantrum because I don't get free shit. $20 for that they see selling is fine. I want the game not crappy extras. You morons can pay an extra $20 for nothing.
-
13 RisposteBecause thats what people asked for, EVERYONE wanted the stuff to be sold separately.
-
What I love is that they say that the Taken King is worth the $40, and I hope that it is, but three emotes, class items , and shaders are -blam!-ing half the price of the entire expansion. Bullshit. That means that, in real life money, you are paying more than $2 to dance a different way. $2 for a shader that you might not like. If you only have one character, or have three of the same class, 2/3 of the content you bought is wasted. They value this as much as they value their full size expansions. THIS IS GOING FOR THE SAME PRICE AS THE HOUSE OF WOLVES. I just want to make that abundantly clear.
-
What, you thought you would get these for free? OKay buddy.
-
Because it might be what Destiny needs.
-
16 RisposteI swear the wording of that update made some people think they get TTK and the bonus items for $20. But yes, they're asking for $60 for the whole thing. I'm shaking my head, they're really out of touch from their customers. Or then again, there are probably plenty of people willing to throw money at the screen. I won't though. This is just ridiculous.

Price difference between legendary edition and collectors edition is $20. Difference in content between the legendary edition and the collector's edition?(digital that is) everything listed in the upgrade package. So either way you're paying $20 for the exclusives. Now everyone please be quiet and enjoy your toys.

4 RisposteHow is anyone still being such a little bitch about it?!
-
I'm paying 40$, bc who gives a -blam!- about cosmetic shit
-
Why would anyone buy that content? It's a waste.
-
10 RisposteSo now new guys get everything for half-price.
