20p per hour to play destiny
By my (rough) calculation. It has so far cost me about twenty pence for every hour I have spent playing destiny. I know the game ain't perfect but I've had a lot of fun and met some cool folks along the way.
Destiny has got to be one of the most cost effective forms of entertainment there is. I don't get why there is so much vitriol towards the people responsible for this game.
Edit: I'm loving the fact that there have only been positive responses to this thread. It is rare to see a thread on here with no hate

1 RispondiThe amount of money I've saved playing destiny makes it a much more solid investment than just what the hourly cost is. Each Friday or Saturday I stayed in to play instead of going out to the bar with my buddies has saved me at least a $40 bar tab.

How much do you spend on car insurance without using it...a monthly car payment on a car rapidly going down in value...movie rentals...property tax. People can look at the cost of playing destiny and see it add up but are you getting what you paid for. I agree with you I can say I got my monies worth out of this game.

7 RisposteModificato da oznig: 6/25/2015 10:42:07 AMyour being simplistic. can you honestly say every hour youve spent in destiny has been utter joy? ive played lots of hours , but many of them were spent doing some pretty crap stuff. due to the way destiny is made.. were you around when you had to grind mats for upgrades??? hours and hours wasted on patrol looking for chests for spinmetal etc.. how much fun was that??. how much fun is it foating in space waiting for someone to re-connect cos they got DC'd? now compare that to say witcher 3.. yes you only run the game once possibly , maybe 100 hours. but in that 100 hours, its all new content. its all engaging and much better in terms of the quality of material.. if you think every hour spent in an MMO type game where terms like farming and grinding are terms coined specifically to describe long boring repetative tasks is awesome you must be delusional.. but my guess is your not up for any scrutiny of your simplisitc statment eh? destiny took the very worst traits from MMO's where it's designed with the simple goal of making you spend vast amounts of time logged in, without really examining how much of that time is because it really is great fun , or how much of it is down to having to do stuff again and again and again to get mats, do bounties to level guns, grind entire weeks of pvp to get felwinters . or etheric light etc etc...

3 RisposteTHANK YOU!!! I wish more people thought this way. $100 into Destiny so far and 750 hours (since December when I started) = .13 cents an hour for me. Which is very much worth it. Madden, CoD: AW, Shadows of Mordor = close to $200, but only about 40 hours combined. Terrible value. I wish more people would look at this logic than the "$60 should buy me everything ever made" self entitlement. Where does the money to pay employees, bosses, testers, servers, and everyone/thing else involved with keeping a game like Destiny functioning and relevant?

Agreed. I have around 600 hours of play on $120. Even if I da for in the cost of my PS4 it's still cheap

(Minus the original cost of my Xbox one and minis the annual cost of Xbox live). (Also minus the beer and pizza I buy to play destiny with) (also minus the cost of the maid that cleans my place because apparently I always play destiny) (minus cost of gardener) (minus cost of Internet) (minus cost of electricity) (minus mortgage) Lol;)

I've played it for a total of 4 hours since I bought it. The sum total of my destiny account is probably 20-22 days. Pretty good value huh
