Why is everyone losing their minds over emotes?

Also, if you want the collectors edition and are legitimately thinking about getting it, then you most likely don't live with your parents. Assuming that you don't live with your parents, you have a job, and if you have a job, $20 is nothing to you.

To be honest for me it doesn't even matter specifically what the content is. Why should I pay for 3/4 of the package all over again in order to get all the content? Why are they walling this stuff off? I bought the original collector's edition when the game launched - now they're saying that isn't REALLY the whole thing, that was like "Collector's Edition 1 of 2" (for now). If they want to create some premium items, and charge for it, fine. That's their right and I'm sure people will pay for it. What doesn't sit well with me is the mechanism. Break down the parts: - Destiny - TDB - HOW - TTK - Collector's Items (Emotes, whatever) Why can I not just purchase TTK + Collector's Items? Why do I have to purchase ALL of it? I already own the first 3 things on that list. Look at it another way: For someone who's new, they get the first 4 items for $60. So for them, if they want the collector's content, it's an extra $20. For all of the existing players, who already have the first 3, they get TTK for $40. So for them, if they want the collector's content, it's an extra $40. How is that ok? I don't even care about prices dropping over time for the base game, etc because that's just how things work. But right now, current prices, existing players have to pay TWICE AS MUCH for the collector's items as a new player.

Why should consumers have to pay $40 for content that is NEEDED for the game to survive? It's obvious Activision and Bungie want to milk this franchise as much as possible. In addition, Bungie and Activision are trying to be sneaky by making people in the UK pay £40 when $40 is equivalent to around £25-30.

I know they are a business that's primary goal is to make as much profit as possible, but they are really giving the middle finger to their most loyal customers. Also to the people that have that mindset of "who cares it's only $20 extra, pre-ordered my collectors edition!", you need to realize that if they turn enough profit on pre-orders they are going to cut content. The amount of content they will deliver with TTK probably isn't set in stone, but let's say they get an overwhelming amount of pre-orders just based on the E3 trailer, then why would they include anything else? At this point they already have you sold on some subclasses, a few pvp changes, and Oryx, so why not cut the majority of the story missions out and sell you those for $20 in December? Why not sell us some more pvp maps and a few cut strikes for $20 more in February? Maybe we can buy the HoW raid next May for another $20? At some point you have to become a smart consumer. Don't preorder and watch the amount of stuff they throw our way when September rolls around. There is a STRONG lineup of games that will be competing with Destiny this Fall, and if their preorders are down, I guarantee they will be throwing content at the screen faster than people can throw money at the screen. Did you notice that Luke Smith said something along the lines of how they aren't ready to discuss exactly how much content was being added yet? They want to gauge how much they can swindle from us. The community has to speak with their wallets to see any change from this money-hungry business model. Edit: grammar errors.

Then by the end of the year your at max pay and finally get benefits, vacation the whole nine yards. When you get to this point after you have worked you ass off and been a dedicated employee. they hire a new guy give him all the shit you worked a year for and a promotion all the day he starts. Best way I can describe it its not the money its the principle of it.

The reason people are pissed is because bungee is once again being greedy and just completely shafting everybody who had played this game from the start. I don't think the money amount is a lot to pay, I do however, think that it's too much to pay for content I already own...

Spending money on something you already own is something very rich people tend to avoid. It's why they have money, they don't throw it away on crap they already own. Get it? Someone doesn't understand the economics and frivolity of wasting money.
