I Dislike Thorn - For a Legitiment Reason

I don't like Thorn because it's all you see. I love how their are dozens of weapons in just the hand cannon class alone. I remember my first PvP match where nearly every gun was different. Remember Lord High Fixer ? What about Shadow Price? Or Cryptic Dragon? Weapon diversity is what I enjoy and I freely accept that Thorn or any other exotic will be the strongest. Exotics SHOULD be the best. They are exotic for a reason. But I'd like other things to be powerful enough to compete. Now I know people will say "Red Death counters Thorn!!!" or "Mythoclast can beat Thorn". Which is true. But what is the benefit to using a specific weapon to counter Thorn when Thorn is just simply put better. I don't care that Thorn is the best PvP weapon. There always is a best PvP weapon, that's the first law of shooting games multiplayer's. In COD Black Ops 1, the Fammas and AUG were the top weapons. But the Galiel, Ak-74U and even the Stoner-63 were competitive weapons that went toe to toe with the god guns. In Battlefield 3 it was the M16A3 and the M416. But the M4A1 and the AEK-971 or the L86A2 were serious competitors for the throne. I dislike Thorn because the community spams it and Last Word. I have a Thorn and I hate having to pull it out because the other team is using it. I dislike Thorn because it is all people use, at least from what I see. I know plenty of people, myself included, don't use Thorn and do fine. I'd just like weapon diversity in PvP to become a thing. Edit - This isn't looking for a Thorn nerf, we've seen too many nerfs change the PvP meta too strongly. I'm fine with Thorn where it is, I would like other stuff to be worth using
