Weapons!!!!! Bungie clearly don't know how real life weapons work
How on earth does a pistol or 'hand cannon' deliver more damage and range than semi automatic scout rifle!
The barrel length determines accuracy and range depending on the caliber of round you fire! A pistol or 'hand cannon' is accurate to about 25 meters! Rifles, with correct barrel rifling and weighted rounds can hit a target a mile away (1600 meters)
Sort your weapons out bungie!!!!!
A pistol should not be out performing a rifle, a pistol is a quick go-to secondary weapon, not a primary killing machine

1 RispondiLook at the scale, the caliber of bullet in those things is likely twice the size of a revolver or pistol bullet. However, the in-game version of the Fist of Havoc or Nova Bomb looks nothing like the real life version…

It's in space gravity variables are different and its a hand cannon so barrels are longer than pistol barrels

How on earth do you think Destiny is realistic. It has aliens in it, no need for specs on guns they make up what they want.

Looking down the posts and I see everyone is pretty upset at your observation. I guess comparing the range of a pistol to a scout rifle is like a sawed off shotgun to a sniper rifle. However, in Destiny the shotgun can snipe. Even in good science fiction there should still be relativity. Pistols should have a perk to fire like a sniper just like VOC, 4th Horseman, Bad Juju etc have perks to fire differently.

And in real life, you generally die after one head shot. You missed that part.

The "pistols" in this game are quite large, longer than a real life hand gun. Some of the scout rifles are very short. Stat-wise scouts have better range and accuracy, larger magazines, hand cannons have more impact. The decision to make hand guns primaries is weird, but for the most part this game is pretty close quarters, so it works.

Yeah well it also doesn't take a whole mag to take out someone with a fully automatic assult rifle in real life. Also I can't seem to master the art of my Titan smash I jump up and hit the ground with my fist and nothing happens. Hum.
