Weapons!!!!! Bungie clearly don't know how real life weapons work
How on earth does a pistol or 'hand cannon' deliver more damage and range than semi automatic scout rifle!
The barrel length determines accuracy and range depending on the caliber of round you fire! A pistol or 'hand cannon' is accurate to about 25 meters! Rifles, with correct barrel rifling and weighted rounds can hit a target a mile away (1600 meters)
Sort your weapons out bungie!!!!!
A pistol should not be out performing a rifle, a pistol is a quick go-to secondary weapon, not a primary killing machine

Scout rifle seems to me to be more of a semi automatic battle rifle. That said max effective engagement range should be about 300-400m maybe pushing to 800 for a marksman variant with a bull barrel. Snipers easily 1600 but not scouts.

Let's put it this way. It's a game, but like every other FPS, they pretty much want one weapon to be used, or spammed in this case, especially by people who thinks it will give them an edge. Let's look at the past. MW: MP5 (SMG) MW2: UMP 45/P90 (SMG) Black Ops: AK74U/FAMAS (SMG/AR) MW3: PP90 (SMG) Black Ops 2: PDW/SCORPION (SMG) BF3: USAS12 (Shotgun) BF4: Any DMR Basically there is always an overpowered/overused weapon in every game. It sucks, but we are stuck with it until a patch.
