Question for everybody
I've only run PoE twice so far, and I would like to know if the etheric light for 34/35 is a boss kill drop or a chest loot.
A guy I just ran this killed himself on the very last ledge on his way down the hole, and like a huge idiot I looted the chest anyway, not realizing he wasn't in the room yet. Did I deprive him of his etheric light as well? I'm a monster.

Oh phew. Okay so follow up question: if I didn't think to clear some inventory room three seconds before the boss kill, would I have deprived myself of the etheric light?

No. He got the etheric light. He just didn't get to loot the chests.
