Inspired by a post from what feels like an eternity ago.
Take a good look, community. Bungie as well. These were comments written about the community, by the community. One does not need to read far to see most of these posts are negative. Why? Simple. Because we (for the most part), are shirking our responsibilities as posters and are acting selfish, and hostile. Why? My guess is misdirected anger. If you're having a bad day and you need something to take it out on, doing so on someone who was anonymous while hiding behind a screen is a more likely choice than that of someone in real life.
There's a reason everyone finds this forum toxic, or poisonous. An example being that it's the same shit over and over. I'm a day 1 player myself, played in the beta even, and from that day forward, it's been a constant outcry of "Nerf this, buff that, AMA, don't xurn gear fags", and it's -blam!-ing apalling to read.
This forum can be saved, I believe in it, and I believe it has potential, but when I see people being hostile towards others, or posting "get gud", or "shut up meg", I see the exact opposite.
Yea, a random guy is telling you what to do over the internet, might as well start posting "troll", or "skrub", or some other boring shit. Go ahead, you'll sink this forum even more.
However, if you even have a shred of basic decency, then you'll listen to these words and heed them the next time you decide to post.
1: Don't post in threads you disagree with. People. If you don't agree with a thread, then simply don't say anything. If a thread has less replies, it will have less publicity, and will then die.
2: Don't make chain threads. If you see another thread discussing a problem similar to yours, post in there, do not make a new thread.
3: Y'all can be some real nice people when you aren't talking about what you're passionate about. Ex: thorn, gjallarhorn, etcetera. Help people out, and you'll get helped in return. Treat people like shit and call them names, and you'll be assisting the downfall of this forum.
4: Never attack an opponent. It's a debate, not a fight. As soon as you start flinging insults, you'll be destructive, not constructive.
5: Mute, if need to. Seperate yourself from any engagements. It's easy, and simple.
I've been watching this forum grow, along with its people and staff from before Destiny. This forum can be good, but the changes have to start with you.
Whether you choose to take me seriously or not is up to you. Just know that I do care for this forum and its people, and I want to see to it that it becomes something great. One person can only do so much, it's up to us as a whole to fix things.
TL;DR Just read it. I poured my heart out to you guys and gals, the least you can do is give me the decency of skimming over it.
TL;DR the TL;DR: Ask not what your forum can do for you, but what you can do for your forum.

That gjallarhorn is God lmao
-
Never saw a community with so many cursing, insulting idiots as this one.
-
That people normally have an IQ of 7. Occasionally, you'll find smarter people, but they're rare.
-
That everyone in the world is a complete jerk
-
I fear for the future of humanity.
-
No matter what bungie does, there will always be someone to post complaints about it (usually over and over again).
-
stay out of the be brave section. there is good info, and good people in the other sections

These forums specifically are pretty toxic. Most people here tend to be whiny, greedy little bitches who want everything and then whine when they get it and it wasn't what they expected. House of Wolves launched new, innovative game modes because that's what people asked for and then OH NO RAID WAAAAAAAH. I mean even now we finally get our third subclasses that people have been talking about since Dark Below and all they can do is bitch about the 40 dollars or the collector edition. I only really use these forums at work when I'm bored. The Destiny subreddit is a much nicer and moe helpful community.

4 RisposteTaught me to make sure I'm a dick to everyone for absolutely no reason.
-
Destiny forums > be brave.
-
I learned about a new toxin called 'community'. You'll meet the occasional good and kind player, but otherwise, the community will burn your self-esteem to the ground and stifle all questions that are honest and genuine.
-
That mostly children comment on these forums. Reddit is much better.
-
I've learnt that gamers of today do not understand that effort = reward. Everyone wants it now, be it a weapon, the cipher (Seriously people are moaning about the wait???) Or Progression.
-
No matter what you do, not everyone will be pleased.
-
There are a lot of intelligent people who are willing to help and talk about this game with you, there are even more whining pent up cuunt bags!!
-
That people suck and are never happy. Oh and when you want people to stop exploiting a fairly known exploit they shine a huge light on it.
-
Humanity has some real scum bags...
-
Pretty much everyone here is a complete asshole. Or a retard. Or both. Before you get mad, if you're not either retarded or an asshole, I'm not talking about you. But I probably am.
-
1 RispondiThat everything is OP, and bungie must nerf everything or it will break the game.
-
That there a lot of slavering erses out there

1 RispondiModificato da xcutioner_0: 6/17/2015 6:25:19 PMToo much hate, and this is where it all gathers. This is where the scum of the earth gather in order to bully people behind a digital mask, trying to make themselves feel better like cowards instead of facing problems in real life like a man. Only very few good honest people here can tell that what I'm saying is the bare truth, the scum just deny it and babble on like "op is fgt". Only people who admit they're assholes and apologize are the real good people, but not everyone can admit this because they're probably scared to.
-
That most people here are blind sheep.
-
people on new gen are mostly all elitest pricks i thought the hate between xbox and ps was bad but hell man people on last gen are looked apon like the skum of the earth
-
People are very ungrateful and whine about everything. They also think Bungie owes them the world. Thats what these forums taught me.
-
I realized that people will make countless threads about the same subjects. Instead of....maybe..... posting their opinion on any number of those threads.
-
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
