20 million people just got shitted on
Everyone is caught up in the hype of the new expansion revealed yesterday. If you click on the link you'll see the different editions you're able to buy. I'm baffled by the fact I paid 90$ for the game plus the season pass while others bought their own special editions bundles for more. Why the hell are Activision/Bungie charging 80$ for all three expansions plus the game? They charged 80$ for all those goodies plus the digital content (3 emotes, 3 shaders, and EXOTIC class items WITH XP BONUS). Even if you choose not to buy the collectors edition, you still have to pay 40$ for the expansion. Here is the funny part: They say as a thank you to our loyal fans who have been with us since year 1, you receive a sparrow, emblem,
& shader. Wait....that's it? Another point is that the people who already spent close to a 100$ or more on the game plus the expansions don't get the new expansion free. Shit at least give us a discount or something! *sigh*

10 RisposteEarly adopters always pay more. Its the price you pay because you a) want to play it NOW! And/or b) can afford the initial price. My Xbox that I paid $500 for can now be had for $349. Am I mad? Nope I saved the money and I bought it when it was new, and I gave gotten many hours if enjoyment from it. Heck I remember the first DVD player I bought was like 200-300 bux... Now they cost what? 30? I spent right around $95 on destiny (and possibly less because I think I got a 15-20$ rebate/gift card on the pre order) and I have around 600ish hours logged. Seems like a reasonable price to me.... (For what I have so far, still debating the taken king expansion and how much I'm willing to pay for that...)

It's called depreciation. On top of that VOG and CE won't really be necessary t o run. Are you telling me if you buy any other game and season pass, and then 6 months later, they put out a GOTY edition, you got shafted? -blam!-ing entitlement.

I love how devs of other games has for years released GotY editions of there game down the line that cost as much as the base game yet has all the extra content, people just shrugs at it, but when bungie more or less does the same thing it's suddenly a huge drama thing.

I don't care that the old content is bundled up for just $40 plus an extra 40 for the new expansion. My issue is that the new emotes and class items can only be obtained by getting the collectors edition. They should of made the new emotes and exotic class items available in either package and only if you pre-order. There's going to be a load of awesome class items over the course of this game, so I can't really justify spending an extra $40 just for them when in all likelihood I'll never wear it.

Bungie doesn't care. Neither does Activision. They won't say anything or acknowledge it until after the expansion comes out and it's too late if at all

As far as the other prices go, the game and it's DLC's prices are going to be cheaper after a year. And now the cheaper price will get more people to easily buy the game and dive into the content. That's simple marketing

I dont have a problem with the price per se, because you can get the limited edition cheap already in stores. The issue is that certain items, items "veterans" want, only come with the $80 bundle.

The majority of "veterans" only run with their own anyway, or demand G-Horns for raids and Thorns for Trials. And here we have Bungie showing you elitists that your not gonna be as elite as you think you are, and everyone loses their minds. I'm gonna buy the 40 add-on and graciously accept all that comes with it, which most of you in your blind ignorant rage fail to understand hasn't even been all revealed. Do I need an exotic class item with XP gains? No, because all class items will have this. There are plenty of telltale signs of tenure-grimoire score, weapons that will never be released again (hello Supremacy owners). And all those DAY 1 goodies still sitting with Tess Everess (The Unimagined Plane IMO is the best looking emblem in the game). Sorry that Bungie's not giving you means to further stroke your fragile egos, but you cant always get what you want, as Mick Jagger once said. And yeah, I am an Alpha/beta/day 1 player. I will agree that pricing is a little stiff in comparing the versions of TK, but I want to carry on my "legend"...so I'm getting the dlc. That's the end all, be all there...you're in or you're out. Make the call.
