keep your filthy paws OFF my Thorn
I am sick to death with reading forum posts, tweets, blogs and much more with people complaining about how annoying Thorn is in PvP. Too many people keep complaining about it being too good and it not being fair. My response? Hands off my Thorn, go get your own!
I understand where you're coming from, I too was on the wrong end of a few bullets from a Thorn but you know what I did. I stopped crying like a baby and completed the exotic bounty to get one of my own. And you know what, you should to. Instead of whining/bitching/complaining and being plain annoying just do the bounty. Not only will you bag yourself what is in my opinion one of the best primaries in the game but you will also have an appreciation of how much effort goes into getting one.
It wasn't easy, it took me many hours and I more than likely lost a few more hairs on my head then I can afford but it was worth it and even more so once I spent the additional time to upgrade it.
So no more asking Bungie to nerf one of my favourite guns, stop being lazy and put the time in to get one yourself or do the community as a whole a favour and shut the hell up.

I have thorn and I agree that it needs to be nerfed. The reason that people complain about it is that it takes all variety away from pvp. You know that a gun needs nerfed when it is the only gun used in a competitive game mode

Why should I have to stoop to your level and use a gun that is clearly more powerful just to compete in crucible or trials. Why can't I use whatever I want with my own play style and then have skill decide who wins the gun fight, not who has the cheaper weapon. No one wants to nerf thorn to oblivion, we just want it balanced with everything else.

Not everyone gets that bounty choice -blam!-. That said, I love my bad juju. Thorn looks fun though.

I've used it longer than most, and I enjoy it, but still I agree something needs to be done. When you enter Trials, and in three hours of playing, 99% of teams you face are ALL using Thorn, with at the most perhaps two teams using something different, that says something. When you're watching players streaming live helping people on Twitch and they're supposed to be high quality competitive players and nearly every one of them is using Thorn, that says something. When you try putting a team together on the forums, and people refuse to accept you if you aren't at least carrying Thorn in your inventory to use at some point, that says something. When every day, more and more players, even players who DO own Thorn who DO use it are saying something needs to be done about it, that says something. Do you know what the term is for when one thing is highly dominant over the vast majority of the rest? Imbalance. The only way to correct imbalance, is through balancing. Let's stop closing our eyes and pretending we don't see what's in front of us, because you can't deny the elephant in the room when it's stepping on everyone's toes at once, eyes closed or not, you still feel it. Something needs to change, and few can deny that. Most who will say otherwise are likely those who went through what I did back when Thorn was in its early stages and had to really earn their kills, and now that it's become the crown jewel, they don't want to see it fade, but the reality is that it needs to.

2 RisposteThorn is clearly unbalanced as it currently sits. It's TTK for a primary is too low. Any more skilled player isn't going to have a big problem if you are bad and use thorn. Where things become an issue is when thorn starts outsniping snipers, which is certainly can do with enough of a jerk team setup. Thinking otherwise is ridiculous and lame. Your crutch should be dethroned; not the the extent of SUROS, that should never happen to a weapon, but to the point at which it's not giving stupid scrubs a Spamfire weapon to bag easy kills with a long range gun with a very high aim assist stat.

The problem is the guns too easy to get and too easy to use, therefore meaning people who are really not that good at pvp gravitate towards it because its ease of use means more kills for them. Tlw has more kill potential due to a quick ttk than the thorn but has a small learning curve so most people stick with the thorn. Both guns are are easy to use the thorn is just easier. I have all exotic primarys, the thorn is over used because its easy to use no more op than the others just too easy to use. Good players will always be good with any weapon i have played so many people who are terrible that use the thorn because they cant use anything else, these guys are no problem for the messenger or tlw. Good players with the thorn are a hassle but then they would be with any gun. Thing is the not so good crutch players are going to spoil it for thorn users if you follow bungies nerf history, ar got nerfed beacuse of over use. Whether they were op or nor doesn't matter they were overused. Same current situation with thorn. I dont use thorn so dont care, but i expect some balance is coming just based off bungies history not the nerf posts. Hopefully they keep the damage etc just make it slightly harder to use, not sure how though probably fire rate, but then they would have to fix tlw. I used the og thorn 6 rounds slow reload etc, it was great and hard to use but very powerful. 😉

1. Not everyone has the bounty. 2. The bounty isn't hard at all. The pvp part is cake and I'm garbage at crucible and didn't have a void primary. And I nearly solo'd the last part and only didn't because of a confusion on getting Xyor to spawn. 3. Thorn is an immense crutch. There is absolutely no way to debate this fact. I used it for about 2 weeks after I got it and it made my k/d jump from abysmal to fairly terrible in no time. All that being said I don't want it nerfed. I like seeing people who need it use it. And it makes me feel like a boss when I put someone down who is using it. But please stop acting like you have a solution that no one has thought of. Thorn is op and a crutch, and if you are going use Thorn you should at least be ready to understand that.

It's really only bad in the trials. If they buffed other guns it really wouldn't need a nerf

I have Thorn. I don't use it because it's cheap as -blam!-. I think way too many people use it now, we need variety. After all the attention it has received it will likely be nerfed anyway. I would start learning a different gun now so you won't suck when they nerf it.

6 RisposteA crucible full of thorns would be a nightmare, they should nerf the DoT to 4-5 instead of 7. Hell promote skill and make the burn only activate on a precision hit.

You're expecting everyone to use the same gun for the rest of their Crucible play time!? Then again if it took multiple hours to complete the bounty, you need a crutch. Oh and here are some manpons. Wearing these helps increase your chances of becoming a man instead of a butt hurt child.

I wouldn't ask for a nerf, but a way to let more weapons be used. Because when you go into trials and all 3 enemies are using thorn, and you can get one hit by it if all three hit you? That's the issue. It's too unbalanced, I mean I use it too, it's fun to use. But I don't rely on it to get kills, and I'm sure you probably don't as well, but that's the issue. It's overused.
