I've never run a raid before because I haven't had a mic, but since I am purchasing one, I'd love to hear some advice from experienced people!
I have a level 31 Hunter with fully perked bladedancer and almost fully perked gunslinger.
I also purchased the dark below expansion.
Should I start with vault of glass or do Crota on normal because I payed for it?
Any tips for running either raid for the first time?
Thank you!
I really appreciate everyone who is offering to help me through the raid! For future notice, I play on Xbox360(:

6 RisposteI would recommend Vault of Glass first, it's by far the better of the two raids. As for tips: Try and find people at your same experience level. Wear gear that makes you level 26-28. Learn as little about the raid as you possibly can. Try to avoid videos, posts, etc. that tell you how to do it. Go in with as little information about it as you can, and have a blast figuring it out over the course of several hours. It's one of the best gaming experiences ever.

Make sure you find a team that likes to have FUN. I can't count how many times I've seen first time raiders have their experience ruined by a try - hard fireteam. Find a raid team that won't get upset if you die, drop the relic a couple times, miss an oracle. Patience is key to having a good time, and it makes for a better learning environment.

Watch some videos on how to beat the raids, and when you form a fireteam disclose to your team that its your first run. Most people are decent and will help you if you admit its your first run, they get mad when they find out on their own after a few wipes.

Patience really is a virtue, greatness in raiding is trial by error you may slip up, but with communication and persistence with your team together you'll be fine
-
Communicate and don't die.

VOG is harder for first timers but far more fun! I pulled a fatebringer on my first hard run

Modificato da シOblivionシ: 6/13/2015 7:02:50 PMDo VoG normal and Crota normal first. You will get all the cool weapons. Eventually. Then work up to hard. Be prepared to mess up a lot at first. Once you get into the flow as a team it becomes easier. Communication is very important so use mics.
-
Look up guides on how to do the raids before jumping in. Most players have played these raids to death and many of them are impatient.

Only one, youtube.
-
Didn't read but... Talk. Talk! Talk! Talk... If you are communicating then you'll be just fine.

1 RispondiJust use YouTube, I can't stress this enough. It blows my mind how people go in blind at this point in the game when you have all the info you need with an easy search.
-
Understand that you're gonna suck on your first run. And tell your team that you need help or don't understand. You're gonna get bossed around and cracked on a bit, but it's a good learning experience.

I've done quite a few raids in my time, and all of them were either amazing examples of skill and/or teamwork, or absolute cluster--blam!-s. Unfortunatly the only way I've found to avoid the watching your team run around like headless poultry is to be selective when recruiting said team.

Even though you're 31, don't be tempted to go to hard VoG before normal

Modificato da BVC591: 6/13/2015 4:44:56 PMFor crota you will want a decent shot gun, sniper, and rocket launcher(machine guns are not recommended.) I also recommend a hand cannon or scout rifle for longer range fights(lets face it hive love to take you on at close range you might want to deny them that advantage. I recommend a rocket launcher with tracking(Gjallarhorn is the best but if you don't have it get 1 round mag rocket with tracking and tripod or a 2 round mag rocket with clown cartridge and tracking) I recommend solar damage on all weapons(bar your primary since you probably don't have any solar primaries unless you got lucky from trials or prison of elders) as it helps with wizards. Your generally going to be running blade dancer and you well need a helmet with replenish health when you pick up an orb of light. The mask of the third man is great for this raid so if you can grab it. During some parts gunslinger can be helpful especially if you happen to have the Celestial Nighthawk helmet so tell your team if you have it. For vault I recommend a void shotgun, a sniper rifle(Ice breaker is great for this but if you don't have it any sniper with a 5 round+ mag well work) and a rocket launcher with tracking(same set up as with Crota's end.) I also recommend a fusion rifle as these are great for killing oracles(having good range and stability helps a lot with these.) For a primary I advise a hand cannon or scout rifle again(would recommend auto's if not for the nerf....) Unlike Crota gunslinger is the way to go and your going to need a few perks active I recommend keyhole scatter grenades and the explosive effect on gunslinger(can't remember the name for it combustion I think?) Recommend the Archophaige symbiote or the Celestial Nighthawk if you have it. Your main job well be crowd control or eliminating majors quickly so be prepared for it. As for what to actually do I recommend you listen to your teammates if they know what they are doing. Vault is the tough of the 2 raids and requires more coordination then the Crota's end so be careful and follow instructions.

Modificato da Teats: 6/13/2015 4:45:11 PMDon't pretend to know what you are doing. Ask questions before the event/ round starts. Try to get a rocket launcher with tracking to 331 for crota. For VoG a good sniper rifle and a long distance scout rifle can come in handy. For parts of VoG a void secondary comes handy for rushing minotaurs. Watch/read a walk through. Different groups do things in a unique way so ask questions. Learn the differences between hard and normal mode before doing the hard. Don't bitch. Don't talk about all the phat lootz you hope to get while the fight is in progress. Have fun. You will eventually get the gear you want. Enjoy the fight.

Jump alot
-
You aim at the heads of enemies and shoot. This game isn't that hard
-
Listen to what your team tells you. Communication is key and can be the difference between wiping and finishing in minutes.
-
Play with people you're comfortable with and who aren't rushed for time. And make sure they know it's your first time so they can walk you through it
-
Play Crota first. It will be a good time when you finally kill him. Then tge amazingness of VoG will taste so much sweeter.
-
Dont die
-
I'd say Crota first, and then VoG. Only because I'd rather you not be disappointed when you go fight Crota.
