Here is my dilemma, I do not have loads of friends willing (or sometimes even able) to aid me in ToO or PoE. Not only that, but in order for me to stand a chance in ToO, PoE, and even Iron Banner, I require etheric light....which can near only be obtained through said activities. I've yet to get any etherlight (calling it that now) through the Nightfalls. So here I am, getting stomped game after game after game in the Iron Banner, grinding just to purchase a single etherlight, and grind some more to purchase another. I'm what would normally be the kind of player that likes to play solo. But Destiny isn't that kind of game, and doesn't take kindly to my type. These past Iron Banners have not been any fun :'(

7 RisposteModificato da Ice Lantern: 6/8/2015 6:46:45 PMThis is what I have managed to do since HoW came out: 1) I have gotten the Gold package from trials 5 times for 10 etheric light (only done it 7 times due to time constraints). In three of those, I have the same friend and one of his friends. The other two groups were people from LFG. 2) I have gotten 1 Etheric from 8 nightfalls. In all but one of those nightfalls, I was with people from LFG (the other one was done with the wife). 3) I have done PoE at least 7 times for etheric light. All of those groups were from LFG. 4) I got two characters to rank 5 and one to rank 3 in Iron Banner for 5 etheric light. All of it was done queuing up solo. Stop making excuses because nothing is being held hostage. The level differences in Iron Banner has been reduced so don't use that as an excuse. If you aren't getting enough etheric light, then that's on you because I rarely play with friends and yet I have 9 etheric light just sitting in my vault doing a whole lot of nothing. Also, stop this "you can only get to 34 by having etheric light" nonsense. Doing 32 PoE gets you a piece of 42 light gear same as getting 5 wins in trials. You can also use an exotic armor piece.

1 side of the community complains it's "too easy" for new players to get high level gear. The other side of the community complains they are "held hostage" because they can't max their gear immediately. Seems like a fair balance. Lvl 34's are not rofl-stomping lvl 33's. A team of 33's can do lvl 34 PoE with little difficulty. Also you should join a clan. It's the best way to do the end game activities with a group of people and it can be fun with a clan that fits.
-
Use LFG. Not that hard to find people to play with.
-
I don't really got anyone to play Iron Banner with either, but I still managed to get to rank 3 and buy a Eth Light without playing all day every day. So it's definitely doable. Just keep grinding man.
-
Kinda agree. I have 1000 hrs played. Every raid and exotic gun in the game and in 3 weeks have got 3 etheric light...lol
-
32-34 is not enough of a difference for it to be the reason you are getting stomped in pvp.
-
32 Poe is easy. Get the armor cores and buy gear. Being a 32 in IB isn't the biggest deal either...etheric light is actually very easy to get

6 RisposteYou are not alone. ALOT of players have been alienated due to the rarity of Etheric Light. While I agree that is should not just rain from the sky/grow on trees. They need to add a method for players with shorter play times l, small friendlist, & who are deployed to acquire it. It SHOULD be available in high quantities in End Game activities. Which it is. However lower quantities should be available to the casual crowd so players can ENJOY the game, feel progression, and be able to get strong enough to attempt end game activities. The community of Destiny has created this dilemma. As 90% of groups require players to be 34 to do anything now. I would be happy if you could buy 1 Etheric Light from The Speaker per week for like 25 motes of light, & then 1 Etheric Light from Xur per week. That way with patience...you could rank up your gear...all be it at a significantly slower pace...you'd also have to decide between Etheric Light & rerolling new guns. So...the argument that it would invalidate PoE is moot. The rarity of Treasure Keys invalidates PoE already.

You have a 34 titan?
-
You sir have not planned or strategized well! Getting to 32 only required the completion of the level 32 PoE and one upgraded exotic. By now had you ran the 32 PoE every week you would have a helmet, gauntlets, and chest so plug in your favorite exotic pair of Jordan's and you'd be 34!! I personally have ran a sh..ton of IB as a 33 and still done better than the average.

2 RisposteThe biggest thing for me is the lack of fun I'm having with this DLC. Skolas at 35 isn't fun, ToO isn't fun for me, after the first time I'm not really having fun with PoE at all. HoW was the fun killer, and that's the only reason I play games.

1 RispondiStep 1) Take Destiny out of the disk tray/close Destiny Step 2) Go buy Dark Souls 2 Step 3) Play that instead Step 4) Profit
-
1 RispondiI don't pvp so Nightfall or POE both requires two others who usually saved themselves for their friends. With no real reason to run POE multiple times they did the reverse of allowing people to get groups they alienated people even more so. No I don't tweet and I don't post begging for a posse. Matchmaking been around forever and the lack of it as an option is pathetic on Bungie's part.

I play with myself all the time and find it quite satisfying
-
Wait, you're complaining about doing endgame activities to reach the new light level cap? Or just complaining about your lack of friends? Either way, wut?? There's nothing wrong with the system they have in place right now.
-
Invalid argument Did you silo vog and crota? Or you did no raids and just crucible? So what are you lying about?

Etheric Light is a strange material in how it's obtained - as you described - I find that for my friends they either have tons of it or barely any. I'm not in a hurry myself and in fact have only obtained 4 EL since HoW dropped - from IB and ToO - but I also am now about to start running PoE 34 regularly, and so imagine it won't take long till I have no more use for the stuff. But I hear you, running one of my guardians to lvl5 in IB takes up all my free time (FYI I don't have much of it, free time). So this week I ran 2 to Lvl3. For some of my time, it was just gritting my teeth to get to the next level. Best I can say is to be patient. In a few months before Taken King drops you'll have a pile of 'etherlight' and not know what it is good for. Bungie changed the drop rate for treasure keys - if etheric light is becoming too elusive, I expect they'll change that too.

This is real simple guys... Without any etheric light, you can at least reach 31-32. With that, hop onto DestinyLFG and find a group to run the lvl 32 PoE. Once completed, you will get an armor core. Trade that in to Variks for a 42 light piece of armor. Use an exotic shard to upgrade your current exotic armor to light 42 as well. before you know it, your already a lvl 32-33. Run the PoE again next week and pick up the next 42 light armor. By then, you should have run the nightfall enough times to scrap together a single etheric light. Drop that on the last piece of armor you need to reach a 42 light level, or wait another week and get another armor core to trade with Variks with. Then BAM, your a lvl 34. Start running higher PoE runs with people on DestinyLFG to get etheric light and lever up armor you actually care about instead of teh shit your getting from Variks. Also, grinding the Iron banner is a lot easier then your making it out to be. If you can play just 5 matches a night, reaching rank 5 is no problem. I think the drop rate for etheric light is exactly where it needs to be.
-
2 Rispostei always play solo, that's just me. unless match making involved
-
3 RisposteIf you have 3 characters and started doing IB on each one each day since it started and only did 4 of the 6 IB bounties you could have easily reached rank 5 on all 3 by Sunday at the latest. That is 6 Etheric light right there. But I do agree, Bungie has locked nearly all of the end game content for people who don't have the time to find a good group of friends.
-
At first it seemed very difficult to get, but over the past few weeks, I have had a lot, mainly from just doing PoE. Had one from 6 nightfalls, and 6 from IB. 22 in total. I've leveled up a fatbringer, VoC, Found Verdict and Corrective Measure for each character. Couple of sniper rifles, and a few pieces of armor. You really need to get some "friends" and do the PoE stuff to get the ball rolling.

Modificato da Roman: 6/8/2015 7:07:17 PMdude first step: acquire exotic armor item and Max it out step 2: play PoE 32 for armor core - trade it in for a piece of armor - you are now a 33 step 3: attempt PoE34 if you can ... if not then hope next week there will be another piece of armor for trade by House of Judgement also I've seen 31's and 32's and even 29's in IB do petty damn good it's a grind for sure but IB is the easiest Etheric Light also, use the forums Recruitment section, there's a ton of people like you and me looking to play - I don't have any friends never mind ones that play Destiny - so I strictly rely on Recruitment section

2 RisposteModificato da njl4515: 6/8/2015 6:56:23 PMThe 32 PoE gives you an armor core which you can use to buy a piece of light level 42 gear. With that and a piece of upgraded exotic armor, you are 33. At 33, you can do PoE 34 and Trials and Iron Banner without much issue. If you really had friends, they would have no problem helping you through. Tl;dr - you are whining about literally nothing.
