As the game currently stands, the Prison of Elders weapons have been the most useless end-game weapons to be released so far. It's not solely because of the Shank Burn/Dreg Burn issue, but because of the fact that those perks take up a main perk slot. They're not like Oracle Disruptor or Hive Disruptor, and sit below a main perk in the upgrade tree, they eat up a main perk entirely. There were a few weapons that dropped during Crota's End which had their unique perks that were rather useless for anything outside of fighting hive, like Dark Breaker and Lich Bane, but this time around EVERY weapon is in that boat. The perks themselves really don't help remedy the issue at all either just because of how weak they are.
Shank Burn? ~123 bonus damage to Shanks
Dreg Burn? ~123 bonus damage to Dregs
Vandal Burn? ~123 bonus damage to Vandals
Demotion? A low chance of stunning Fallen Captains
Mutineer? A low chance of suppressing a Fallen Captain's abilities
Disciplinarian? 75 bonus damage to Fallen enemies
And you thought THOSE justify taking up a main perk slot? I could see Mutineer or Demotion ending up as a main perk on maybe the Servant of Aksor just because it's Arc damage and doesn't really need any more perks, but why Bungie? Why make the Prison of Elders weapons so underwhelming compared to the Vault of Glass and Crota's End weapons? These weapons were always so interesting to get since they weren't bound by the 'perk 1 slot' and 'perk 2 slot' rule, they could have a Perk which was normally restricted to the first slot in the second if they wanted to and vice versa. They could also end up like Fatebringer and have a perk which that weapon class normally couldn't get on its own.
So please, Bungie, redo the Prison of Elders perks. Get rid of them entirely except for maybe Disciplinarian, give us a real perk on the weapons such as Feeding Frenzy and the like, and move Disciplinarian (Or a Fallen Disruptor perk) to a node under the second perk. Make them actually feel worth using alongside the other Raid Weapons, because as they currently stand they're about as useful as Rare weapons. If you guys really have no intention to ever rework the perks on the weapons, at the least let us reroll them at Variks to try to get a different Fallen-themed perk!
Share your thoughts below and let's try to keep this bumped up for Bungie to see.
-tl;dr-
The current perk upgrades on the Prison of Elders weapons are far too weak to be justified as main perks; please remove them entirely and add in a real second perk to each of the Prison of Elders weapons alongside Disciplinarian or a real Fallen Disruptor as a special perk underneath the second perk like Oracle Disruptor and Hive Disruptor were.
EDIT: Someone suggested that we should be able to reroll our Fallen-specific perks at Variks through giving him a Weapon Core. The idea of that was to remedy having to obtain the weapon itself numerous times. It was also specifically stated that the Primary weapons should have static elements in regards to the rerolling, which means if you have a Void Wolves' Leash II you don't have to worry about it becoming Solar and vice versa. Although this isn't the best solution to this, I think it's a pretty fair idea and would be OK with the system for the time being.

1 RispondiI'd say demotion, vandal burn, and disciplinarian are the only good ones.

I definately believe PoE (and Trials) weapons should be like Fatebringer, in that they break from the class norm. I can see why they err from wanting to create another Fatebringer, It's a little strong in it's effectiveness as a PvE weapon. But not all combinations will be fatebringer strong. How about things like: A Scout Rifle or Hand Cannon with Focus Fire and Hip Fire? You make it innitially a low or mid impact variant of the weapon, but when aiming down sites it basically turns it into a high impact version? So the HC would have Word of Crota or Fatebringer Impact, but aiming makes it statistically similar to Timur's Lash? You've created an unusual gun that isn't overpowered.

yeah bungie you -blam!-ing retards learn to make a game

1 RispondiBungie (paraphrased): Zomg guys...our data shows that most players don't bother doing the 35, so rejoice because we removed all burns to make it easier for you. Result: Now we take less damage from burns, but guess what: EVERY attack we make is mitigated by 20% as well since we don't do burn damage anymore. Boss has less hp, but it takes a lot longer to kill him AND the waves of trash that spawn around him at set intervals - especially at the start of the mine capture phase. Translation : Grats. Skolas is now significantly more annoying than a no-burn omnigul. Annoyance != Challenge I do not experience more joy for completing a particularly awful and laborious task. I simply shake my head and try to avoid having to do it again. I can live without two more ciphers. I can live without a void pulse rifle with bonus damage to dougs or skanks. Three different 34's tell me that I can either try my hand in the trials, or take a break from this ridiculous hamster wheel until September (and then be disappointed again). Oh Destiny - such a sordid love/hate relationship we endure. I hate you like a case of the crabs: It's fun catching em, but not so much once you've got em. #GG. #golfclap #middlefingers

I would be happy if the 'burn' was a bit more varied I have 2 Primary & 2 Special weapons that do bonus damage to Shanks!
-
It doesn't matter what the perks are for PoE weapons. I'll still use VoC and Found Verdict for pretty much every situation.
-
Partly why I have no interest in running 35 PoE. Even if I get one of the primaries with a burn on em, I won't use it over any other raid weapon that I already have.
-
I agree the perk is horrible. It's a waste of a slot.
-
They need an exotic ability. They're really unique physically, but they need some abilities to make them actually worth using.
-
No. What bungie should do is make it so that the PoE and the ToO drop the same weapons. In the "Queen's chest": The 28 would drop the queen weapons. The 32 and 34 would drop the non-adept version of the weapons. The 35 would drop the adept version of the weapons.

My machine gun that deals moderate extra Damage to shanks says the Poe perks are........................
-blam!-ed
1 RispondiPoE LV35 Final Round 5 at skolas, the fallen leader just 1 melee attack hit to kill you, and build up more time to capture the zone!! that's suck!! because I play PoE LV35 after the update, over 6 hrs, I give up to this bull shit game, when we kill skolas without capture the zone, over 3 time almost defeated, and over 10 times the fallen leader suddenly to kill you by melee attack, fxxking Jesus Christ!!! pls fix this bull shit, and restore Solar Burn immediately!!
-
Lol, is this a rhetorical question.
-
Hive disruptor was a tertiary perk, and it did around 400 more dps. Absolutely pathetic, bungie
-
But shanks and dregs are so hard to kill and I need extra damage to even hurt them.
-
3 RisposteA bunch of devs sat down in a room and thought to themselves for hours, and said.... AY YO GUARDIANS... WE KNOW YOU HAVE TROUBLE BRINGING DOWN THEM SHANKS, SO WE MADE YOU A SHANK BURN TO BURN SOME SHANKS THAT HAVE SOLAR SHIELDS AND MADE THE WEAPON VOID SO YOU CAN SEE JUST HOW WELL IT WORKS YA DIG??? I can understand if they made those perks a double active, like the white nail on black hammer but they didnt.... Some perks I'd like to see implemented into these weapons: - Fallen Disruptor (This is obvious) - Double Shot - Upon firing this weapon occasionally lets off two bullets at no additional cost. - All or Nothing - This weapon becomes more powerful when your health is low. We can sit in a room for hours and think of a million better things.

Dam u str8 babygurl

1 RispondiWhat kept me playing this game was the dragon chase of having the best weapons and gear possible. Since I have achieved that and made my characters look the way I want and have them at max level I feel as though I am done until the next dlc. I'm just doing PoE 34 x3 each week now for the light. I have no motivation to sacrifice the time to kill Skolas for gear that is no better than I already have. I feel the same way about ToO, although I may attempt it because the armor looks cool. And I would like to have a void scout I guess. But I could live without it. Guns like Vsion, Fatebringer, Found Verdict, Word of Crota, Black Hammer, are really what kept me going. The game is still fun but we all know that satisfaction of getting that new item we want so bad. Who wants a gun with dreg burn? What a waste.
-
Did they fix these guns yet? How about now? How about now? How about now?
seriously, get it done already and unf*ck the auto rifles while you're at it
-
1 RispondiThey should. I have absolutely no reason to bother with Skolas every week for crappy weapons. The only thing I really want is a void scout rifle and maybe solar handcannon. But its not worth my time for those horrendous perks.

1 RispondiAfter the "no raid" announcement, there were a lot of threads with people saying that no weapon from a three person activity should be better than a "real" raid weapon. Welp. That's what we got.
